AMD RADEON RX 470 SERIES NOW AVAILABLE FROM £164.99 DELIVERED!!

That's the thing that needs to be included in any decision, How far away is it until the majority of titles are pushing DX12 or Vulkan because chances are there'll be another gpu upgrade between now and then for many of us.

This sort of lacklustre release really does bring AMD's short to mid term gpu future into question for me, They're clearly unable to compete with mid or high end and they appear to have nothing great on offer where they have released cards so how long will it be until they can get there act together and offer compelling products again?

Looking at how long the majority hold on to there GPUs in this price segment there will be plenty of DX12 or Vulkan games before they want to replace there GPUs.

Thought the price defenders would have been in getting vocal...

:oWhat was I thinking, it's an AMD launch.:p

Lol it's AMD's fault that Nvidia's pricing in the high end is up so surely it's Nvidia's fault in this segment. Really i blame Nvidia for there pricing and AMD for there pricing but had to get that saying in lol.

Pre-ordered the £165 one as it sounds like the cooler is actually decent and stock is meant to be in Monday. Fingers crossed it works in my old z68 motherboard now!

I'm currently using an Nvidia card, but people saying "just stump up £40 more for a 1060 over RX480" are forgetting the fact that with the 1060 there is no option to SLI down the line. AMD offers crossfire still in the mainstream.

Why would you want to SLI a 1060 anyway?

The actual cards are good performers, much better than their predecessors but very poor pricing on these, not sure if because of RRP or vendors. But these seem bad value for money when RX480 and GTX 1060 are not much more...

These are horrendously priced, really bad bad show from AMD, the only saving factor will be if these can actually be unlocked to full fat 480's if Gibbo is correct that they are failed 480's, but even still, they are massively over priced...

Christ knows what AMD are thinking.... and they have a 460 coming as well? how much will that be £160 to £200?

Why are you guys so mad lol look at reviews they are basically the same performance as a 480 with a little less stable fps if i was after a 480 still i'd get one of these instead. Cheaper and better coolers for the price.

Well apart from the Nitro cards they are all "pre-order" anyhow.

So don't expect to actually be able to have one in your rig any time soon :p

Expect a long wait like 480 "owners", to actually have your card...

It's almost 10 fps lower in every game at 1080p according to the TechPowerUp review.

The only card worth buying is the £165 Sapphire, the others are all overpriced. None should be above about £180, and the 8GB model has no reason to exist.

In the US Powercolor are selling their 480 for $179, which is equal to MSRP. The exact same card here has a £35 premium over the basic Sapphire one.
