AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Yeah, that was my point. Though the narrative being pushed is clearly that the 7900 has a design flaw. I wonder who would be pushing such rumours this close to launch.

I’ll give you one guess and it rhymes with Chlamydia ;)

It is rather suspicious but not unusual. Remember the "leakers" predicted rdna3 would be a monster that beats a rtx4090 by at least 50%. When the reality turned out to be something else entirely they needed something else to turn to, so now we have these rumours that rdna3 has a bug and that once it's fixed via a new bios or driver or a hardware refresh, rdna3 will become twice as fast and destroy Nvidia.

Now where have we heard of magical updates that will fix supposed bugs that massively hamper performance; oh right that's MLID's specialty

"poor volta", "overclockers dream"

:p :D

Amazed people still post that **** let alone take anything he says as gospel, has to be the worst channel ever.

Thing is we already know that the 7900xtx is going to most likely beat a 4080 in raster, lose in RT (on par with a 3090) and as per gibbos posts, cost from £999-1250 depending on reference or custom. The only thing which would be a shock tomorrow is if the 7900xtx is only just matching or loses compared to a 4080.

probably rhymes with moores law, but you all lapped up his BS when it was about nvidia and intel, now it's AMDs turn because he needs to farm clicks

So you claim I believed his BS, can you find my post as evidence please? I don’t view these leakers because they are ALL full of ****. At no point did I or most people ever believe the 7900 would beat the 4090 by 50%. That’s a straw man from the usual Nvidia zealots and has zero basis in reality.

Since the first Nvidia slides for the joke 4080 12GB and 16GB price/perf, I have always maintained that AMD would be only marginally better (at mid tier) for price/perf this gen. Though that’s a really low bar.

Is it just me...or is AMDs offering is looking worse by the day.

I have gone down to a semi.
Team green and fanboys are doing all they can to make amd look a bad buy, we only have 1 day to go till we find out for our selves, i'm looking forward to the review personally tomorrow

The hardware is fine, problem is the pricing. Sure they can’t compete with the 4090, but they can with everything else for the most part. Why not come out with a bang and be good guy AMD again like they used to be and release at sane prices?

Probably cos they don't wanna be seen as the underdog anymore so will price it as such even if their offerings aren't as good. I'm sure there will be some marketing gimmick to cover this like the whole 8K BS they kept ranting on about.

But like 10% market share man… If they carry on like this in a few gens Intel may have more market share :p

Exactly, we will find out in 1 day the prices and performance. I don't expect great prices but most rational people knew for a long time that AMD were aiming for 50% increase in perf per watt. So based on their aims and the performance of the 6950 XT, we have had a ballpark figure for quite a few months now assuming AMD achieved that target. So rational people (ie. those that can read data) have worked on the 50% - 60% ballpark for months now.

nice to see people writing the cards off when they haven't even launched. just wait a couple of days then see what their actual performance is.

I agree, they have a good opportunity but the gut feeling is they don't see it and greed is slowly covering their eyeballs. At least they saw some sense with the new ryzen cpu's but it did take some time and people not buying them, maybe the same thing will happen with the gpu side but by that time the damage will have already been done.

Experience shows not to get more than the semi especially with AMD. Always wait for initial reviews and then extra time post that due to subsidised sources. You don't want to be rushing in anyway but when the new norm of high end is above a grand you want to be as informed as you can. Lets face it there is no need to FOMO into this as there should be lots of stock on shelves. One of the advantages of AMD is the mindshare means 90% of people wont be after that!

im not writing them off, im HODL that these cards will sit between the 4080 and 4090 and somehow they have trolling us and nvidia by not showing what they really have...

The fact Nvidia have already dropped prices on both the 4080 and 4090 indicates they pushed it too far this time and their sales are below expectations. So AMD don't need a marketing gimmick, all they need to do is have a GPU that is faster in most games than a 4080 for £200 - £300 less. Nvidia's greed has left a wide open net for AMD and if current performance and price predictions are accurate, they will score.

We have reached apoint where a mid range GPU at ~£1000 is going to be seen as "good value".

EDIT: Even if Nvidia announce a £100 price drop on the 4080 and 4090 that would leave a very sour taste in a lot of 4080 owners mouths. Well all 4 of them :)

Mid Range for 1000, they can shove that right up their backside. Probably the reason why im gonna be a gen behind now just so i can pick up a high end for closer to what they should be instead.
