AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

This seems more like a beta test for the architecture. I don't think its an easy fix as if it was then they would have delayed the launch. A couple of months down the line we may get what was advertised.
well its first chiplet gpu afaik so issues should have been expected

In the UK? That’s an awesome looking card. I love it. Absolutely massive mind you! I hope you’ve got a big case :D
Yeah, sold out now.

Thanks man - this is the card i wanted to get, so glad i did.
I actually have a small ITX build that i wasn't really using for gaming at the moment, so im currently looking on OC right now for a new case (c344cm min GPU) :p

Yup, its something that's brand new to the gaming gpu sector, bound to be some teething issues. Though there's bound to be some blowback if performance goes up significantly shortly after release as the reviews are already out there. Gonna end up being re-reviews because something does look "iffy" in the results now that we've seen performance of faster cards vs the reference.

Share pics when you get it. I love the look of that card, with its GPU holder it almost reminds me of a speedboat!

I'm hopeful for a fix within 1-2 months. There is no way they could have missed this window for releasing, they were already behind nvidia in terms of release and missing out on sales and most importantly christmas sales, although at the same time, they have probably somewhat shot themselves in the foot too given all the "issues" and claims they made about efficiency/performance per watt and performance increase etc. and that being in the initial reviews, first impressions and all that. Especially when amd can't shake the "bad drivers" image they have....

Hmm.. the graphics card is 34cm, but the support bracket adds another 3cm, do you think i really need this? It will be an ITX motherboard as well :/

I don’t think you *need* it, it just looks pretty cool with it on.

Few more details about it in this review :

Looking at this - i have the jonsplus bo 100 at the moment but that only fits 210cm graphics cards :D.

Thanks will check it out.

Edit case maybe a little small..

As I expected, devs are now starting to target 4090 for RT. Those who kept saying 3090 Ti levels of RT is just fine for AMD should take note.

And no the game is not badly optimised. Vegetation and RT can crush performance so it's not Nvidia paying off CDPR to advertise their 4090. If you visit the park in the middle of the city in Cyberpunk, fps is cut in half and is exactly the same as Witcher 3
funny you mention that nvidia now has a specialized RT block for alpha testing in the rtx 40 series, i believe the witcher 3 is going to be a perfect showcase for that

Which devs?

There is something wrong with the drivers for this card.

The Red Devil Limited Edition.

Its clocked higher than the reference design. And if you look at Metro Exodus the performance is 14% higher than the reference card, its also 30% faster than the 6950XT Red Devil.

Go to Guardians of the galaxy and the performance is exactly the same as the reference card, that performance is also bad, the 6950XT is 7% faster, its behaving like there is a hard limit on performance in this game where even a higher clock gains you nothing.

IMO the performances on these cards is way down from where its supposed to be, there is an issue with them.

The gaurdians thingnis known, it's been showing awful performance in that game since launch day. And then there is a long list of vr games where the 7900xtx is slower than 6900xt. Should have delayed launch

Delighted to see that the 7900xtx is selling very well. I am still interested in a partner board.
Predictably the 7900xt is not selling that well. Not that there is anything wrong with it, just that the 7900xtx is priced too close to the 7900xt.

Most of the 4080s sold out at launch though with the FE gone in seconds yet just over a month later and it's been in constant stock now for the best part of 2 weeks.

I think give it a month or two and the same will be happening with the XTX. There are only so many people willing to pay over a grand for what should really be an £800 GPU while the 7900XT would be a decent option for £650 although it would still only offer half the performance uplift over a 6800XT compared to what that offered over a 2080.
