AMD RDNA3 unveiling event

Valid points raised by Frame Chasers

AMD is trying to lose marketshare
-keynote, lying about everything
-blind marketing and blocking reviewers from heative press
-stopped giving samples to critics
-Locked more power tool, so cant overclock
-cant flash bios
-used chiplets lied about power draw
-50c under load with 110c hot spot
-them denying RMA for it
-frying PC, working as intended
-AMD lost 8% market share in GPU's

Guys this is monumentally stupid.

AMD spends billions developing a GPU architecture for the future for no reason.
I wonder about people that are believing this story. It would have been easier and saved AMD loads of money to just not release anything if this was truly their aim but someone has to make up some stories for clicks.

AMD would have to walk away from the console market to actually have this happen. It’s just a stupid made up story. We are in a recession and crypto mining isn’t happening so people aren’t spending money on GPUs. It’s not anymore complicated than that.

Yup these meme channels that only focus on pc hardware just want an excuse to post memes like this

The reality is that AMDs market share across all markets is still very strong. Desktop GPUs is a small volume market. AMD still has huge market share in shipping GPUs found in consoles, laptops, handhelds, cars and is even moving into phones. Chances are that even if they wanted to; AMD could quit the desktop GPU market tomorrow and their Radeon group financials would still be very strong due to all the other markets they are in which makes government intervention very unlikely

Finally, a post by Grim that has logical rationale.

Here is one you may struggle to find the logic

Reddit user claims changing display cable drops 20c from 7900xtx hotspot.

He says he has three cable; a Dell display port cable and Dell HDMI cable that came with his monitor and a 3rd aftermarket Diaplayport cable. When he's using the Dell DisplayPort cable the 7900xtx throttles at 110c. When he uses the other diaplayport cable or the hdmi cable the 7900xtx has 20c lower hotspot temps and doesn't throttle

The first thing that comes to mind is that the 3rd party cable is faulty in such a way that the GPU is only able to negotiate a lower bitrate connection with the monitor. As a side effect, the GPU is then able to reduce its clocks more.

Is there likely to be news about Navi32 based Graphics cards at CES in a few days?

Like RX 7700 XT and 7800 XT?

Or are these cards expected in a few months?

Has it been confirmed yet if the 7800 XT is based on Navi32?
