AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

Where'd you see that?

And what would it be? The 5500 was Cezanne, but the 5500X3D couldn't be as the iGPU bit would be an issue. So it's a further downclocked 5600X3D ? That already mostly matches/even beats the 5700X3D sometimes so what a weird SKU it'd be.

hmm, so its the 2023 rumour when the 5700X3D also appeared, they took their time!

Gotta get rid of that silicon :p

Do they put these X3D chips in laptops at all?
I've wondered if they'll ever do this. I'm sure someone who understands the actual physics behind it will be able to explain why/why not it's possible - but it would surely be a huge win-win situation for AMD if they could do it for gaming laptops.

I think I'll put it back to stock (as well as change the power setting - my mobo slightly under-delivers) then start from there. I need to clean my loop and change the thermal material too first, but will report back.

I'm currently on in a 5600x, always planned to go 5800x3d to eek the last out of my rig but the 5800 price is just nuts right now, so I'm really tempted to give the Chinese import 5700x3d a go keeps dropping as low as 125 quid ish which feels like a dead chap decent upgrade to me.

They're a good option at that price, I have one and I am very happy with it (with a 3080 for 1440p 165Hz gaming)

Interested in your experience, where did you notice the difference ? your setup is near identical to mine, my 3080 is 10GB and 144hz monitor. I know the performance scales better at lower res, but its the lows Im really interested in at 1440p, I get stutters at times were the frame rate drops, would love to sort that.

i just went 5600 to 5700x3d and the differance is outstanding.
gpu 7800xt
165hz 1440 screen

it completely depend on the game Squads is a very badly threaded game so at any res it struggles. the 5700x3d as lower clocks than my old 5600 but the uplift at 1440 is about 80fps to 135fps.
its a very good little CPU for £170

101mhz (100.98) here. Max core clock (single threaded) now 4191mhz - I can feel all of this extra power!

All core load still caps them all at 4090mhz, running -30 on all cores.
