plenty of builds with AM4 boards that can drop this CPU in, guess thats the reward supporting the socket for such a long time for AMD

Such a good CPU. I just took a gamble in hoping the AM5 one is going to be great too.
Financially this one made way more sense.

I know some X370s can now handle Ryzen 5000 including my CH6, but does that also include the X3D?

£350 (assume I can get around £100 for my 3700X) would be tempting.

I was planning to get a 5600 for my B350 but t he prices are going up not down.. not surprising:

Was elsewhere selling it for £323 but it's gone now so seems we'll see a fair few places dropping the price to around £350 now...

Now they have competition from 13600k, amd have no choice but to drop price for it, should really be £300-350 (as normal price) now imo.

I was close to buying one but it sold out at £350. May wait to see if there are other offers closer to £300 in the coming months.

I picked mine up for about £380 a few weeks ago, was quite happy with that, at £350 or less it's a bargain really. It'll certainly do me to max out gaming performance on AM4.

At ~£320 on an elcheapo B550 board, it's hard to argue against the value, especially since RAM has minimal effects on performance, not to mention you can cool it with a cheap cooler as well.

"cool it" is subjective, I'm happy with 89C in FS2020 with a Hyper Evo 212 cooler.

Since the price is coming down I might get one to replace my 3700X. What would be a decent cooler? I have room in my Silent Base 801 for a 360mm radiator if watercooling is the way to go.

Hhhmm worried my Alpenfohn Dolomit Premium 120mm might not be enough, it's rated to 210W TDP though.

Could add another fan but think I have a clearance issue on one side.
