Is anyone using this CPU and playing MW2?

I'm playing at 1080p and pretty happy with where my FPS hits at highs/averages on my 5800x - but the 1% lows are my concern and it can drop at times. I'm trying to tell myself I 100% don't need the upgrade to a 5800x3D but every time I look at this thread and see everyone happy with their purchase I get more and more convinced I should take the plunge.

I'll let you know after I've installed mine this weekend as that's what I primarily play. I'm coming from a 3600x, so I fully expect to be amazed by the change.

Played some more games for longer periods and can defo say benchmarks don't do the chip justice, overall games just feel smoother and there is less hitches/stutters when **** is kicking of.

That's all I wanted to hear! I'm getting sufficiently high FPS at the moment but when things get busy on on screen on large maps, I definitely notice the drops with current CPU. Looking forward to installing it on Sunday now and running some test.

This is the bit reviews and graphs don't cover. I know it is subjective but it would be nice to have some more "feel" feedback in reviews, double blind tests would be best. As many have said it's the lows that you feel not the high vs even higher frame rates.

"It is said that there will be one more model than the AM4 platform – one for enthusiasts and the other for mainstream gamers."

I saw this written on several rumor sites in the last couple of weeks (this is just the first one I was able to google now) and MILD also talked about it.

That's Zen 4 7000 series - which is AM5 innit?

In the 7000 series the 8 core 16 thread CPU is called the 7700X and the 7800X is rumored to be the 3d Vcache part for Zen4.

That was a bad link to provide and I just realised I skim-read it wrongly as it does not mention a new AM4 3D processor. I will try to find a better source (assuming I didn't misunderstand what I initially heard and read, I read so much each day that its hard to keep track of sources).

Do it all the time myself. I'd be very interested to read it if you can find it again and indeed there is another 3d part for AM4.

7600x3d I'm expecting £500+ (as they will be the best bang for buck gaming chips) and limited slow drip supply to keep prices high until intel come up with something better. Also a bit silly buying a 5800x3d now for £350+ as in 3 months time they wlll be half the price retail, and there will be many fairly new second hand chips on the market. They've already dropped 30% in price in the last month with intel's latest offering.

Scalpers will be out in force on these 7x3d chips. Even yesterday's Peter Kay £35 tickets are selling on the bay for £1000 today

I would be quite tempted if they did drop in price by that much! Not sure if they will drop that much though. Time will tell.
