AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

I don't think the performance delta will be as great as with the 5800x3d. They will probably slightly gimp the 7xxx3d in some way otherwise they won't be able to sell their non x3d chips like we're seeing with the 5000 series
I seriously doubt they are going to be 'gimped', we have no basis for that speculation considering the clock speed limitations of the first-generation 5800x3D were technical limitations and not intentional limitations. The refined 7000 will likely fix those issues and clock speeds are reported to be similar to regular Zen4 and cache is double that of the 5800x3D at 192MB. https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryz...e-16-12-and-8-core-models-coming-january-2023

They will be priced at or around the intial 7000 MSRP and they will aim to blow Intel out of the water. It's clear AmD are bringing out the big guns now and the 70003D versions are aiming to make up for the lackluster 7000 sales.

That sounds pretty epic if it comes like that.
I think once I fit the 5800X3D, That will be me for a few years then jump to up to AM5 like I had planned near its end of life cycle. Similar to what I done with AM4.

Yeah, I think a 5800X3D now and then Zen5 80003D in a couple of years when Nvidia 5000 series is released will be my goal. I think the 5800x3D is enough for 4k 120hz and VR gaming until then. :)

I just cancelled my order as they oversold so said be end of the month now.
I'm seeing deals popping up now so set alerts for them.

They are still selling in droves, non-3D CPU's. Not everyone wants a £300 plus CPU, most popular CPU's in order I am seeing is 5600, 5500, 5700X, 4500, then X3D. Many people buying for gaming use are sensible and budgeting more on the GPU. Not everyone buys enthusiast grade hardware, in fact it's a really small percentage.

I guess the black Friday price hikes are subsiding. There are quite a few retailers selling it now for £335 with available stock.
Why didnt they (any sellers) just have the price at £335 for black friday / cyber monday? I'm sure more people would have bought them if they were

Black Friday is a con
Of course it is. Its just there to rinse shoppers these days.

Got to make it look like a good deal somehow I guess. Quote the RRP and show 40% off. I didn't understand the price jumps in the UK seeing as everywhere is has had the price cut for weeks. Its RRP across the pond has been $329 for weeks (Probably tax needs adding though)

Black Friday is a con
It seems to have been generally like that this year. I noticed a washing machine I was looking at is now 12% cheaper than it was over Black Friday weekend across many retailers

The X3D might drop a little more as we approach Xmas and as the £ steadily improves.

So I mentioned it in a GPU thread - over here in Australia the black friday prices, which are still available with some sellers, were around the 280 quid mark, so there seems like space for a price drop in the UK. (The UK does pay higher prices for some stuff, but a lot of things are as expensive or more here, like GPUs)

Hmm, Wonder how long that may take to materialise. I just re-ordered at a cost of £280 for me (Stacked vouchers), If we could see a price drop imminent, I would maybe hold off a few weeks.

Well my cancellation payed off. A restock (With cheaper price) with delivery tomorrow plus an extra £5 voucher for my troubles, £5 for adding funds to my account with them and my voucher, 5800X3D for £279 thank you!

thanks for the advice earlier in the thread

I've bought (he's paying half) a 5800x3D and Gigabyte Auros Elite v2 for my Son to go with his 3700 GPU he currently has. Also bought a 4000X case, and probably going for a H100i Cooler. Just the RAM to choose now.

will be quite an upgrade from his Xeon E3-1225 he currently has

just got to get those last bits then build the thing !

My chip arrived a few days back. Its currently sitting next to me awaiting fitting. I've updated BIOS and chipset drivers for when I get round to it though. Just trying to find the time to do some game testing with my current setup before switching over.
