AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D Cache Eight Core 4.5GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail - Go Go Go xD

PBO2 with a CO of -30 across all cores keeps me locked at 4.45ghz in Cinebench at 67c (score just over 15k). It's also dropped my temps to low 50s in games from 60 or so, which is amazing. I've stress tested it with Cinebench and Prime95 (which sits at 4.35ghz and 81c), both of which run flawlessly.

Overall, very pleased with PBO2, so I've used the GitHub article to load the -30 CO settings on startup.

I was a little worried, as I got the CPU as a B grade from here, but it's working brilliantly.

just ordered one , was on offer with voucher and couldnt resist will be replacing 5900x which has been wasted on me I only game casually and thats about it and love how much lower power the 5800x3d uses in gaming and gaming performance will be paired with the 3080, was thinking about 7800x3d but jumping on AM5 platform just too costly and I know its not worth it for me maybe later :)

Does the core change stay after a restart/on waking? I followed the guide for configuring it for start up but it just resets every time.

Hi Raz. I had to change it from ‘on startup’ to ‘on logon’, as I use a code to logon to my pc. It was sporadic before but has worked every time after the change. Hope that helps.

I read on one of my google feeds this morning that a number of CPU's had another price cut in the US today but can't find it again. I expect these will slowly filter through here too. At sub £300 I might get very tempted by the 5800x3d, just for platform longevity, may mean I get away with skipping zen4 altogether.

Some of the bios updates have restored the ability to do pbo undervolting in the motherboard bios. The latest Asus update enabled it for me.

still waiting for the cpu , my motherboard is the msi x570 unify and they have bios setting called kombo strike, basically 1 means -10 all core, 2 -20 cores and 3 -30 all core , would prefer to do it in bios dont really like adding extra stuff into windows if I can help it

What offer was that dude? I'm trying to build a gaming rig for my step bro using a 6900xt but not sure to go AM5 or stick with AM4.

Just installed the 5800x3d replacing the 5900x had quick play

Was thinking about 7800x3d but didn't make sense to me as I only occasionally game and moving to am5 is costly probably £800-£1000 with decent board and ram , found deal on the 5800x3d and it's drop in upgrade

Following setting means -30 all core it really improved temps and lowering power from stock still need to test

Love how much less power it uses over the 5900x whilst gaming
