im leaning towards a threadripper build with a custom loop would a 480mm radiator be enough to keep it and a gtx1080 cool under load if the 1950x is overclocked its a 480mm 60mm thick radiator

Anybody have any idea on what's possible with 64gb over 8 sticks? Tuning my ram as much as I can but in truth have no idea what I'm doing :)

i wouldnt say i game a massive amount so it only factors in to a small degree and id be running a 1080 so its not a huge deal breaker wanted to get into some overclocking as have never really done that before aswell sooo decisions decisions

I feel ya! im still deciding myself. My workload is video editing, after effects, cinema 4d, etc. But i really do like gaming at 144hz at 2560x1440 / 3440x1440.

No huge rush, ill wait for more reviews.

also if you are not an avid gamer you can game at decent fps on threadripper from what reviewers are saying

Of course you can as long a you don't play at 1080p with a 1080Ti (and even that is just in some games). I doubt people buying HEDT platforms are gaming at that.

GTX 1070 and below is fine on budget CPUs, which are nowhere near as good as Threadripper, even at 1080p.
