*** AMD ThreadRipper ***

That score matches mine almost exactly at 3.7. I managed a run at 3.9 which netted 3335. Memory I can only seem to get my 64gb to 1533/3066 at around cas 16.

I just realised in that run i had my memory running at 2133Mhz, but i did have the timings tightly tuned, Lol. Upping the mem to 3466Mhz CL14 only netted me an extra 3 points.

Here is my Firestrike score.

Graphics Score

Erm, want to do a swap? Can trade you my spare i3-540 for it ;)
You don't really need all of that power do you? :p

Any chance of one of you beastly threadripper owners seeing how low you can go on the x264 CPU preset with OBS without getting encoding lag in a fast game such as Overwatch? 720p and 1080 60 FPS tests would be ideal. If it performs well enough I've got 3K to drop with these haribo thieves to build a system.

Yes I know hence wrote similarly to the 8 phases Asus is using. Either IR3555 or IR3556.
MSI Carbon has 10 IR3555 or IR3556 under the heatsink, IR35201 controller running in 5+X mode, and 5 IR3599 on the back side. And looks very well prepared for severe power delivery :)

Just picking back up on this. My Gaming 7 mobo uses IR3556 and an IR35201 controller.

26,999 physics? oh dear

Engage brain? oh dear...
Calm down dear. It's ok

Thought the score was a bit low for a 16 core cpu is all. I wouldn't buy a TR for games in the slightest. And to be honest. The single core ipc of x299 is very good, best of both. /opinion

What is your physics score? I've noticed firestrike doesn't load up all 16 threads on my ryzen.
Only done one run of firestrike. But was ~28500. ~14440 in time spy

Thats 5%, your Firstrike CPU score is 5% higher, that's nothing to brag about when your 7900X MT performance is~45% slower than the 1950X.

Haha. If you say so chief. Compare it against a cpu that costs the same. Threadripper is not a gaming cpu. No where near

Its a Ryzen CPU, its as much a Gaming CPU as an X299 CPU, even if X299 is clocked much higher.

Two 6 core CPU's, One Ryzen at 4Ghz, the other X299 at 4.7Ghz, nothing between them so you can't say Threadripper is not a gaming CPU without also qualifying that to X299. they perform the same, overall, in games.

Yes i'll keep posting that till it sinks in ^^^

Sorry no, Based on ipc. It's a slower cpu. Will be Interesting to see how the bigger intels do core for core. But this isn't the right thread for that discussion

Do you even understand what IPC is?

The Ryzen 1600 is a 6 core 12 thread CPU running at 4Ghz, the 7800X is also a 6 core 12 thread CPU, but it is running at 4.7Ghz, that means its doing the same amount of work at lower clocks, or more work at the same clocks, that is IPC (Instructions Per Clock)

X299 does not have higher IPC, Ryzen 'at least in games' has higher IPC as it is doing more work at the same clocks.
