24 Core Threadripper 1970X in coming
It should be Zen 2, and then it should be 2950X in coming

I wonder if Zen + means Threadripper? Do you think they will be a able to squeeze much more than they already have out of this process, Threadripper was supposed to be the best binned hips they had.Isn't it Zen+ next?

Who knows I just hope zen 2 delivers.
It'd be great to see AMD back on their feet in the CPU stakes.
Last time Keller left, after his original magic in the Athalon/Opteron era it was about 5mins before it fell apart.
On that, why can't you actually buy shares in a human?
You probably couldn't afford him without using some kind of illegal means. It'd be great to see AMD back on their feet in the CPU stakes.

If you look at Kellers contribution at that time. You probably couldn't afford him without using some kind of illegal means.
Yeah Amd excites me more, with Intel you expect them to do well, they are like a rich kid that wins at everything because his parents hired the best trainers to coach him, but when someone comes from lesser means and does something good, it's that much more impressive.

Athalon K8/K7 and opteron
Hypertransport
AMD-64 whilst intel went mental with itanium.
Bunch of Arm stuff followed including A4/5 at apple
Back to AMD, steal intels lunch AGAIN and disappears to a little know backwater like tesla.
Probably fair I can't even get a .00001% share in that level of moxie.
Zen+ will be an enhances Zen core, think Phenom I vs Phenom II. Bulldozer vs Vishera............ it will be on the 14nm FinFet+ node, currently we are on 14nm FinFet
Nope, they already have single socket 32 core CPU's on the market, where do you think the 16 core Threadrippers come from, they could do 24 core CPU's tomorrow if they wanted to, i think a 1970X is a very real possibility and soon.
Totally agree, it's just noted that when the Keller wasn't at the helm, it disintegrated fairly fast last time.I think you understand that it takes more than one person to undertake such a complex project such as the design of a cpu architecture. Anyway the foundation blocks have been laid down now so the rest should just fall in place. Let's just hope that the 7nm process goes to plan.
Zen 2 officially replaces Zen+ which no longer exists.
Zen 2 will be in the core of the 48-core/96-thread Starship chip which will replace the 32-core/64-thread EPYC.
From it, half of it will be 24-core / 48-thread Ryzen Threadripper 2950X.
Further, a quarter of it will be 12-core / 24-thread Ryzen 7 2800X.
Didn't that also coincide with Intel's bribing campaign? Anyway let's just see how it pans out rather than expecting an impending doom.Totally agree, it's just noted that when the Keller wasn't at the helm, it disintegrated fairly fast last time.
The thing with great thinkers (for me) is when they move on, so do others that might just have kept the whole thing afloat.
Here is hoping that's not the case with ryzen, they seem to have executed well in his absence so who knows, maybe they'll get him back!
Not against wait and see, no guaranteed impending doom but lets not pretend the loss is a win.Didn't that also coincide with Intel's bribing campaign? Anyway let's just see how it pans out rather than expecting an impending doom.

I have no idea why you'd say this moments after I point out keller caught intel napping again?A loss? Not sure if you've noticed but Intel are at 6's and 7's
Maybe let's not call a win a loss.

Whatever, he isn't at AMD now and how much they sustain the genius is pretty much case in point!Intel don't like spending money on Desktop CPU's R&D, it upsets investors subscribed to 'Yacht Weekly' because they think that money is there's.
Its not napping, its arrogance to think because they didn't do it no one can, and profiteering, Intel just like to sit and do nothing for huge margins on cheap CPU's
