AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

They are European websites, but not in english so i have no idea if they are up for pre orders or simply place holders.

If its any hint at pricing however it would be amazing performance for that price, which makes me think its fake, sadly.

Both links were dead for me so didn't see anything though if that is meant to be the price for 4850 and 4870 then i would agree it seems too low to be true.

Both prices were for the 4850 model, which goes on to show the uncertainty and the lack of reliability.

Still, one can be hopeful. The rumoured performance of R700 was confirmed by insiders to be greater than X5000 for 3dmark vantage.

Well the 4850 is meant to outperform the 8800ultra on 3dmark vantage and before everyone chimes in yes i know vantage is not a good indicator of real world performance. I am really looking forward to getting a new gfx card and i am totally set on a 4870X2 whatever Nvidia brings out.

I more am wanting to see the reviews honestly, then I can make a good choice.

I probably won't buy the card till a week or 2 after launch, to make sure that people are reasonably happy with the one I wanted to go with, there isn't any major bugs and hopefully the prices and supply will settle a little... but then again I may just order right away :/

Self control I must demonstrate :p

not really there fault that samsung or what ever company makes ddr5 cant make them fast enough. and 5 days is not going to kill it. they might loose out few costumers if nvidia lounch them card before but i dont think loads of people will be buying them as they just to expensive

4850's are GDDR3 though.

4870's are also going to be expensive if they limited now then, be like the 8800 GT's, high premium prices, played AMD, prices ballsed as well, credit where credits due i suppose, when you balls up, you balls up well, its all that practice you been getting. :p

well as they said they want lounch 50/70 together so they delaying 4850 till they make more numbers of 4870 beets me not buying anything till mid august hopefully prices will be down by then and r700 will be out

Does that mean the NDA's shifted as well then, as that would be bad, rather they kept that to the 16th so they can still get the reviews out, as then at least people get to see what they like before Nvidia Launch theirs, as i can't see many people wanting to hold off for a week not knowing what they like, how they perform etc..., especially not with the GT200's out there reviewed and to be bought.

i see too many balls in that post, i am getting worried about you :p

BUT!, if 4850's are GDDR3, and 4870's are GDDR5, doesnt that mean the 4870's should clock a lot higher? i could have sworn i saw the 4850's were on a 65nm process and the 4870's were on 55nm. Must be just the memory difference then

Yeah, seems like it'll be a similar scenario to what we have now with the 3850 and 3870. The main difference is the type of memory and stock cooler. Of course third party vendors are likely to take advantage of the 'only real change' and start shipping '4870's with GDDR3. My money's on Asus to do it first.
