AMD To Launch RV770 On June 18th

Hahahahaha :D :D :D. Flimmin' fantastic scores from a single 4850 and this is what used to be known as the Pro. Never lost faith in ATI and now they've proven their worth again in the performance world. I don't think I'll be swapping my GTX for the 4850 but I might be tempted by the 4870 .

Also Easy's gonna have to eat those words. I think he'd rather stay in hospital tbh :p.

Well done ATI/AMD. What a turnaround :).

Looks like i was wrong with the whole 480 vs 800 so i better show up and shut up :D

The benchmarks are much better than the first few that were posted on random forums which is great news. Nvidia seems to be in damage limitation mode with the new drivers for 9800gtx as well as new OC versions of it. Great to have true competition back in the GPU market!

Yes it is with luck it will give nvidia a boot up the behind and keep nvidia and ati on their toes.

I want to clear up some review sites showing awful results for the hd4850.

Lets take cod4 as an example.

The following all show the 4850 outperform the 9800gtx

computerbase.de - http://www.computerbase.de/artikel/...eon_hd_4850_rv770/6/#abschnitt_call_of_duty_4

guru3d - http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-ati-radeon-hd-4850-review-force-3d--powercolor/11

techpowerup - http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_4850/6.html

Then these benchmarks show awful performance

pcgh - http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,6...Radeon_HD_4850_im_PCGH-Benchmark-Test/&page=5

pcper - http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=579&type=expert&pid=3 <--- using heavily oced nvidia cards

The PCGH review clealrly has something wrong with their test system and should be ignored. There are systematic differences throughtout their benchmarks.
