AMD X2 Socket 939 Prices now dropped !! (X2 3800 @ £99)

Well, yeah I guess I am, first of all, removed from the web site, Cheapest in the Uk, then price changing, and plus I'm on a very small pension, so the chip is a major purchase for me mate.

Looking around the web now that everyone has dropped to the new pricing, it would appear that £95 +VAT would be the expected price. Maybe they will adjust it again today.

Also I consider £6 to be a fair amount of cash, when you consider it could almost cover your shipping costs.

Very true, i spotted them on friday @ 8am, purchased with saturday delivery then later in the evening came onto these forums to see what most people were getting and here and only here in this thread was the monday ship out mentioned. The website had no notice of this and even said the chip i ordered was in stock.

yes but the price drop was today 24th and only on the 24th can they ship out.

is the price fixed now or will it drop later again today

Stock is beginning to ship now.

Though you must understand because we were first to drop prices in the UK has meant a huge influx of orders and our warehouse has gotta ship out close to 2000 orders today which is more than we'd usually ship during busy periods.

Were hoping to have gotten most orders out by around 4-5pm.

We only have 1/3 warehouse staff Saturdays who spend most of their time picking orders for the shop counter and nobody works Sundays at OcUK....

What did you buy?

We've just ran out of X2 4600 on Socket 939 as that is clearly best seller now!!

Though we do have another 120 arriving tomorrow and a further 250 in with us for Thursday I believe.

3800+ no point paying for more... After all this is OCUk is it not? Shame the 1MB cache ones haven't fallen, but hey i'm not complaining, will give a lease of life to my 939 board for a little while

iirc AMD stopped making 1Mb cache ones because the cores on those are larger so they cost more as they get a lot less CPU's per wafer.

Im gonna wait for that 4200+ to fall closer to £100, makes sense as im stuck with a bad overclocking mobo atm.

But 4600+'s flying out the door... that seems very odd.
