AMD X2 Socket 939 Prices now dropped !! (X2 3800 @ £99)

Just ordered the 4600 and an eclipse 62 and scythe ninja. Just seems a bit too much money to replace mobo and ram as well as that would put about another 350 on top of that.
4600 should see me thru fine till the am2 or conroe matures and will see how all new tech is going.

Tempted tho about the evga 7950, 90 day upgrade offer sounds very nice. Must keep finger off buy button. Roll on tuesday.
 
I think its because the price cuts come into affect from monday as thats the same day that the conroes are officially released to buy

clearly told that it would be monday/tuesday.

Got the weekend to decide - thinking that the 4600 is a good possibility as i can sell the sandy and the upgrade will be about £120 net effect.
 
I get paid a week on monday there better be some left in stock for me :p

Also when people do start to get their's the beginning of next week keep us informed on how well the different models clock so i can have some idea of which one to go for

aye lad I got caught out on this , but it was my own fault cause I didnt read the op properly

I orderd last night and chose the Sat Delivery option

phoned up today and sales guy refunded my the money on my saturday delivery cause its not getting deliverd till monday.

ah well
 
Hmm...the site says they are in stock, not pre-order, but Gibbo's post says they're pre-order and shipping on Monday or Tuesday.

I was planning to pop into the shop tomorrow, i.e. Saturday 22nd. I'm now none the wiser as to whether I'll be able to buy one.

If not, I'll have to buy something else, because there's a Magic Aura in the shop that makes me buy a new toy before I can leave. :) Besides, anyone who has been to the shop on a Saturday knows what it's like - you can't wait in a queue like that and then say "Oh well, I won't buy anything then".

I don't like having stuff delivered. I know I get better rights under the Distance Selling Act, but I also know that they will attempt to deliver when I am not in, because they always do. Whatever I order and whatever company is hired to deliver it.

Nope as in order to meet demand we've ordered stock from six different distributors as over the last few days we have sold 1000+ CPU's. So we have had stock arrive and arriving from several different sources so guarantee steppings is impossible.

Never mind i Just live around the corner and ill get 1 Monday But Just (like everyone else ) carnt decide on 3800x2 or 4600x2 ??
Overclocking will be a Bonus !!

If you are overclocking, I think that the likely difference in speed won't justify a 50% difference in price. Chances are that both will have about the same maximum overclock.
 
Me 2 im thinking of going for the 3800x2 and save a little cash for the next upgrade (AGAIN!) Looks Like its just luck finding a good overclocker!!
