AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Green screen of death. I'w seen it.... Normally its when memory or cache is unstable i can replicate any second by changing to aggressive cinebench15 performance Bias from gentle.
@humbug @Illuminist just finished night marathon 12 hours HCI memtest pass and I'w ran few benchmarks after no problem no need for reboot ect.

Until there is a new bios for my gigaboard, in leaving mine, its absolutely beasting!
Is been on for 2 days no reset, played games, ran memtest, cinebench of 7447.love it
When there is a stable bios that doesn't take 10 minutes to post when I set something bad I will increase my ram to 3800 and all core clock to 4.4 like you or maybe 4.45 ;)

Really I would be happiest with 3800/1900 and 4.6ghz all core but I think that's just a dream

Yeah amd have that habit, they didn't say it about vega and they were oc dream lol
I could get 4.35ghz all core on my 2700x so as long as i can get that out above on this new chip im happy. I already get 20%higher frame rates now the ram and core are stable

BTW info for anyone interested.
If You are looking for best waterblock for Zen3 on the market

This is the one to go due to fins location and thick coold plate. Gotta wait and see how them 8pack blocks will be.
The EK Velocity block has the fins and water in/out on the right side of the block, rather than central :)

Thanks but I'm still not sure what the problem is. Incompatible RAM? I can try getting the newest drivers for my GPU because Windows has installed ones that are nearly a couple of years old, version 388.13.

Hard to pinpoint the issue when it's showing multiple errors in the event viewer.

I've had to RMA my 3900X.

Asus Crosshair VI Hero Q-code 8 on soft reboot was becoming unbearable. When I first installed the CPU I posted on here stating how easy it was, just a drop in install for my 2700x. Obviously I hadn't tried a reboot since it all booted from cold boot OK. I even thought I had sorted it by messing with CSM Boot options in the BIOS. But it would always come back.

I had zero issues in Windows, only on soft boots and the very occasional cold boot.

  • Tried 2x different CPU coolers. CoolerMaster ML240 and Noctua NH-12s
  • 2x different HDs
  • 3x clean Windows 10 installs
  • Reseated CPU so many times I ran out of Thermal compound.
  • 3x different BIOS
  • 1 RAM stick only
  • Various mounting pressures on the CPU cooler
  • BIOS Optimised Default settings
  • Bare bones with only GPU, keyboard, Mouse and OS drive connected.

I drop in my 2700X and no issues at all, replace with my 3900X and Q-Code 8 after a few soft reboots.

At first I was thinking it is an issue with immature BIOS but I have seen no other complaints of this issue on CH6 on this or other forums. My years of experience tell me CPU problem.

I have had a ton of early ram problems that look like to be because of the immature bios. I want to try and OC the ram but I am nervous that I will get the dreaded 3 loud and long beeps again. So far I am stable at 3200 but I want 3600. I have not touched the CPU yet but my initial benchmarks have it sitting above the mean, or so it appears.
