I was hoping to replace my 3570K this year (probably 9700k) but waiting a little longer to see how Zen2 pans out won't hurt. It's been a long time since I last had an AMD cpu (Newcastle A64 3200+ on s754).

Stock 9900k vs not final stock frequencies at lower power, at a possible much cheap rate. Its looking bright for Amd.

You dont even know what core speed the Ryzen was running at?

    The 9900k was stock

Plenty of space left on that IO for more cores, I'm sure AMD will deliver come June and I expect it'll be worth the wait.

depends on price. its funny how all the important factors are being left out.

Yeah power was ok but it all depends on clock speed....

No confirmation that Ryzen 2 beats intel in IPC at all.

when was the last time AMD CPUs were prohibitively expensive price/perf compared to Intel??

I just watched the keynote from 5. Nothing was shown right? Or did I miss something.

$699 graphics card worse than the 1080ti? Albeit cheaper than the 2080.

Ryzen usually launches before APUs, EPYC, and Threadripper, but I would say June is optimistic at this point unfortunately.

Also we have no idea about pricing so even if the technology is exciting, we'll find out later whether it's actually great for consumers.

The Core i9-9900K was at stock, so 4.7 GHz all core. That's all we know.

EDIT: Apparently Lisa screwed up the numbers.

look at amd gpus pretty close on somethings but the price makes them almost pointless overall. hopefully theses cpus arent the same.

Exactly, the 12/24 it likely to come in at £3xx and would destroy Intel top offering. And with the 16/32 left to come in and wipe the floor.

All depends on the price now. I dunno what to think with regards to that, because their GPU price wasn't exactly amazing. But then their previous Ryzen pricing has been great so, who knows.

That space for another chiplet is basically trolling Intel

Based on the power consumption I'd assume the ryzen wasn't running an extreme OC.

if the frequency was 5ghz stable they would of shown it. its going to be lower than many think who are swept up with the hype. same as the price.

This is what I thought too, though Lisa Su did stumble over the numbers. Your corrected figure is in line with the Anandtech data too.
