AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

without doubt it is going to be a surprise gpu announcement - showing a new vega equalling or beating a 1080ti at just below current vega64 pricing (source - i just bought a vega64 so guaranteed to get screwed over :p)
If you go on the Vega64's performance, reduced to 7nm and power parity then performance is around 30% greater (so 1080Ti). If they decide to run more CU's then it could be a very interesting unit, though I would hope they solve the bandwidth issue with the memory ;)

In theory a 7nm RX Vega could exist as a stopgap until Navi, but you counldn't chop down a Vega 20 into a gaming part unless something miraculous happened inside AMD which would make doing so viable. And certainly you wouldn't see it sub Vega 64 prices simply because HBM costs a lot. A limited edition Vega Ti perhaps? Vega 64 X2? :p

I think you might be in for disappointment, I don't think you'll get any CPU news for the budget conscious. I do think it will be GPU related though, just my hunch.

Budget conscious? just because im not a big enough moron to buy the overpriced tat Intel offer in the form of the 9900k or even the over inflated priced 6 core CFL stuff, does not make buying an AMD CPU for the "budget conscious". If anything its the "smart buyers" choice :)

Anyhow im not getting into an AMD vs Intel / Nvidia with you, i know your bias and you know mine. I am hoping to see some news on AMD Zen2 Desktop CPU's as they are an easy swap out replacement for my existing CPU and should offer a lot more performance than what i currently possess, nothing more, nothing less.

We are probably not going to see much of interest to us, i don't think this is aimed at people like us is it?

Depends, quite a few of us work in the I.T. industry so personally I'll be quite interested no matter what it is about.

Woah, I didn't mean budget conscious as an attack. However, your response says a lot about you. In your opinion, only morons would buy the 9900k, nice.

As I mentioned previously. I do think it will be GPU news. Firm CPU news would be too soon imho.

AMD missed a trick with no live stream, even if it is all data centre based, people still want to watch the event not just watch a blog unfold.
