AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

I know that guy got ZERO clue what hes talking about :D For starters 7nm wont be requiring as much power as 14 or 12nm. Cpus will be SAME tdp at stock +- 5-10w as it always been.

People bealive it cause its not only on internetzzz but most 1000% accurate part of it. YOUTUBE !!! You dont know Youtube is ultimate source of FACTS ??

Well except they might have double the core count...

Well except they might have double the core count...

There will be lower clocked 16 core SKUs and lower core count SKUs and AMD will have 65W TDP and 95W TDP class CPUs. So I don't understand why suddenly an existing 400 series board, say with a 6 phase VRM for the CPU section suddenly cannot run a 65W TDP Ryzen 2 CPU,unless AMD is doing an Intel OFC.

They can trippe core count DOES NOT MATTER if cpu needs 105w its 105w does not matter if its 1 core or 1000 cores.

I dont give crap about more cores than 8.. MAYBE in 3 years. I want those 8 cores to CLOCK that's what Ryzen is lacking Clockspeed not

You started with a good idea and ended with a bad idea. What matters is not clockspeed. Remember the Pentium 4 race for more gigahertz?
What matters is what you do with these gigaherts, or the IPC.

A 2.5 GHz Athlon 64 was faster than a 4GHz Pentium 4.

So how does that work? 8 core has lower clocks than 16, which in turn has lower than 32cores :D and then 48 clocked the highest :D nice list

clever from AMD, they figured people like me would grab a 6-8 core part at 5ghz if available instead of a higher priced 16 core part, so looks like they treating clock speeds a premium same as core count.

I want a 4.8+ part tho with a integrated gpu on it, but not on the list sadly.

MOST ryzen users want HIGH clock 8 core not 16 cores at lets say 4.2.. If we needed more cores we had TR option 2 years ago

WHAT PERFORMANCE ?? More cores at this time does not provide more performance. Best shown with 8700k vs 9900k
https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Proce...Review-Competition-Renewed/Gaming-Performance

and if someone buys Ryzen dor pro workloads hes on wrong platform anyway.
Zen 2 can have 32 [email protected] and 8700k and 9900k will still be faster in games.

In WHAT GAMES? In hope you don't expect future games to rely on engines which utilise quad cores only.... or single-cores only...

Some games scale to 16 cores, but you are talking about more than just CPU horse power when it comes to games. Why would anyone buy a 6 core CPU when you can have 8 cores for less money.

No reason... people just buy the 8-core, use 6 cores if they wish and have 2 more spare cores for other tasks - be it streaming, to avoid stuttering or whatever..

Like 1 out of 20 games that comes out scale... Cause 6 cores can be FASTER than 8 cores. Overclocked 8700k IS faster in all games and equal or faster in many production programs.
I use cyberlink power director for post production from gopro it makes crap use of cores tbh overclocked 5820k was faster than overclockd 1700x in producing videos and all games.

@4K8KW10 you most games can use 6 cores 8 cores ?? Well hardly any. With speed things are going by time games will actually use 8-12 cores we will be on zen3 or 4 hahaha

Everyone was moaning that there is no point of buying the 9900k that is 8 core cause no gains in gaming as it is... And we are talking about 16 cores ?? on top of that Ps5 and next xbone will use some Zen2 APU that will most likely have 8 cores 8 threads to keep temps down.

If new consoles will end up with 8 thread cpus GOOD LUCK with games using 16 core 32 thread cpus before 2030 :D like how many AAA games nowadays are not ports but full on PC titles ?? One a Year ??

AMD does have a history of making futureproof products that one day will UNLEASH THE TRUE POWER. Problem is that when that future finaly arrives those products are paperweight :D

Remember the epic best futureproof 8 core cpu from 2011 called bulldozer ?? Finally last year it got to unleas the full power of 8 cores in em games hahahaha

Ah, so YOU want...

Buy a 7640x overclock the life out of it then pair it with a £1500 Nvidia card and 720p monitor. You will have the best DX11 hardware and graphics driver.

A lot of engines do, however explaining that to the master race is pointless.
well You are the one sitting on old 1800x not 2700x not me I upgrade Every year to wht I like. And Atm I VERY like 9900k but want to see how Zen2 does :D I was soooo tempted to sell whole platform and get back on intel.
Would be gain in games and in video production that i do almost every weekend. Wounder how does 9900k mine cryptos vs ryzen tho hmmm

BFV is one game that scales with cpu cores.
Hope Dice sorts DX12 support out tho.. It's still slower than Dx11... HOW ??
besides taht no one plays BF V anyway :] everyone plays RDR2 people whats more puzzling is that more people play this early acces game called Failout 76 oO That game got WORST engine of 2018 :D God damn modified Morrowing engine Christ.

Go for it.

The latest Nvidia drivers might* have improved things. To early to tell but I played 4 rounds yesterday at it seemed smoother.

Anyway DX12 isn't any Nvidia thing. Gears of War 4 does it well. So it can be done.
