AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Right, AMDs history at CES

2016 AMD revealed its Polaris architecture. https://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/news/244...laris-gpu-architecture-coming-later-this-year

2017 AMD revealed Ryzen 2000 series. https://www.pcworld.com/article/315...s-7-all-new-details-revealed-at-ces-2017.html

But Tim says this year AMD are not going to reveal Navi or Ryzen 3000.
He says they are going to talk about them in vague terms, but not give concrete clockspeeds, prices and release dates. I will be disappointed if he is right.

But Tim says this year AMD are not going to reveal Navi or Ryzen 3000.

OK, managed to get around the YouTube block at work. What's been said was in the comments to a video about RTX pricing.

amp888 commented a week ago "The AMD leaks are about announcing some products at CES, not releasing them at CES. Just thought that was worth pointing out".

Hardware Unboxed replies with "AMD, Intel nor Nvidia NEVER release products at tradeshows so that's a given :)"

and

"Also just to clarify, AMD will not announce or even mention the Ryzen 3000 series at CES in a few weeks time."

When called out by others stating (and linking) historical precedent of AMD and Intel announcing products at CES (specifically the first 2 Ryzens and 7700K LAUNCHING at CES 2017), Hardware Unboxed responds with

"What they are announcing is under embargo now so I can't say, but there is certainly some consumer grade stuff in there."

So nicely contradicting himself there. AMD NEVER announce at tradeshows apparently, despite historical precedent, but they ARE announcing something at CES 2019 but it's under embargo so can't discuss. This almost feels like a troll.

Now as I said earlier, the keynote doesn't need to be specific about products, but AMD have a lot of presence at 2019 (apparently three booths at CES plus two events/booths at the Palazzo Tower). So what in the blue hell will be filling up those booths and event spaces if Ryzen and Navi isn't being discussed? EPYC Rome and Vega Instinct can't fill ALL of it.

Exactly what it is.

Then it's going to shred their credibility from here on out. Could still be something GPU related given he said "not showing Ryzen".

But either HU is trolling, HU's source is wrong or AdoredTV's source is wrong and HardOCP's source is wrong in "pretty much" confirming AdoredTV's information.

We won't know if AdoredTV is wrong until final release specifications of products are known.

To be fair he specifically says Amd never release at CES not announce.

To reiterate there's a difference between making announcements about a product group and announcing a product. This is what the debate will come down to.

AdoreTV already covered release and announce, they are trying to cover their backs after re-watching AdoreTVs videos
We do not know if AdoreTV is even right yet so its better not to take what he says as bible and start bashing on others for revealing what their "sources" are saying.

I hope everything that Jim says comes to fruition as I will 100% be buying something but lets just wait and see.

Actually, he did say that

"Also just to clarify, AMD will not announce or even mention the Ryzen 3000 series at CES in a few weeks time."

We won't know if AdoredTV is wrong until final release specifications of products are known.

In the context of annoucing Ryzen at CES we will see if Jim's information is correct or not. And being misinformed about the annoucements will then call into question the rest of his leak.

I think some peeps are forgetting that it wasn't just AdoredTV's 2 sources, Kyle Bennet at HardOCP also backed up AdoredTV's claims from his own sources. As Kyle is easily one of the most respected peeps in the Tech world, for him to agree with Jim's thoughts is not something to be dismissed as HU has.
I would certainly trust anything that Kyle says way more than anything HU has to say on the subject.

"Also just to clarify, AMD will not announce or even mention the Ryzen 3000 series at CES in a few weeks time."

If this turns out to be such a problem for those who say it, then the only thing that AMD needs to do is to release everything at CES next week.

AMD wont waste a keynote.... they would be crazy too.

Oh I haven't, which is why I originally said HU and ATV can't both be correct. Jim's info says there's a load of Ryzen 3000s being announced at CES. Kyle said the information is "pretty accurate". Now Hardware Unboxed are saying Ryzen isn't even being mentioned. That is a direct contradiction, they can't both be correct.

It is entirely possible that plans have changed so Jim's and Kyle's information is now out of date, but if that was the case then you'd think their sources would've given them an update. Unless AMD have rooted them out as traitorous spies and ejected them from the building :p

We'll know in almost exactly 120 hours at the time of writing...

Right, He backtracked on a earlier assertion and is now reverting back to that assertion by repeating it.

I think Tim should keep his mouth shut, he's starting to look like a troll and i don't want that in the Hardware Unboxed channel, which i like, or rather i like and respect Steve, Tim... shut up.
