*** AMD "Zen 4" thread (inc AM5/APU discussion) ***

Not sure everyone has this issue. It’s a popular motherboard so there would be a more known issue beyond the usual DDR5 sensitivity most boards are having at the moment. Has the bios update helped?

I have zero issue with my x670e Asus hero and ddr5 running at XMP 6200

I've been pleasantly surprised at how stable AM5 has been. AM4 Zen launches were much worse

Good to hear. I just picked up the x670e hero so looking forward to it being straightforward I hope! Only thing I’m unsure about is using the bios flashback to upgrade the bios so that I can use the new 7950x3D cpu but the Asus website says it pretty easy to do.

If there`s one thing putting me off jumping on the AM5 ship is the issues people are having, I know that you only hear about the problems because nobody writes posts when everything is as it should be.
I`ll be looking to upgrade from my i7 9800 and I`ll either be getting one of the X3D CPU`s or 13th gen Intel and keep my DDR4 depending on how well the X3D CPU`s compare with the Intel CPU`s, just got to sit tight and wait for the launch and reviews of the X3D chips.

If you look at forum posts about any platform it will be mostly issues because that's what people post about, like you say. I don't know whether AM5 is really any different or has more issues than any other platform at this stage tbh? Mine was all plug and play not a single problem.
