Zen 5 should have never launched in the state that it did. The CPU may have been ready, but the BIOS side was far from ready, plus Windows 11 holding Ryzen back on top of it. Delaying it for a month or two would have been fine for some more polishing.
Yeah I agree, it was a completely abysmal launch. If they'd wanted a few months, all the bugs would have been ironed out and perhaps they could have included the X3D parts in the launch.
Having the new generation CPU actually be faster than the old generation across the board (including in games/cache sensitive apps) seems such a fundamental benchmark on whether it's worth launching a 'new' generation.

That is shocking that AMD released Zen 5 in that state.
Hopefully this might fix the abysmal minimum frame rates that were worse than the 7000 series.

Game bar works fine in Windows 10, at least it did on my 7950X3D. I would imagine its the same for the 9950X too, though I've not tested it myself.
Meanwhile, Intel launched the 14th gen a year ago? And people are still waiting on them to decide what VID the chips should run at…

If this turns out an average and added to the 11% Winaymdee gains over Wintel then that 3% might actually turn in to that "17% over Ryzen 7000 series" which i think is a good solid gain.
Benchmarks that I've seen, which shown up with this fix show the performance difference is around 1% on average, so within margin of error. No wonder they could've missed it, as it's seems to be largely meaningless. More data needed to be sure.
