AMD Zen 5 rumours

X3D will be in demand much more now Intel has shown they are slower with arrow lake.
Guess it depends on the chip and what changes they made to Zen 5 X3D chips, if it affects the 12 and 16 core chips that makes them better than Zen 4, otherwise the difference will be minimal.

7950X3D is a good price currently, but it's got the issues that people talk about that makes the 8 core chip a bit better for games

ooof that's hard to stomach

Makes me laugh when the 14700K(F) will generally be within margin of error with the graphics cards and settings people will pair a CPU like that up with, is much faster for anything non-gaming and can be had for just over £300 currently from reputable places.

Or something like the 12700K is under half the price and not hideously behind outside of 1080p gaming.

That got sorted a while ago just turn on Xbox game bar.

Guess the 9800X3D will be £500 considering the 7800X3D is now back to it’s launch price of £450, if anything it’s actually more expensive than launch given the exchange rate was 1.24 back then while it’s 1.31 today.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £449.99 (includes delivery: £0.00)
wtf at that price!, that's back up to its normal price.

I bet its to make the 9800X3D better "value" when comparing the 2.

Ridiculous price.

I hate this hobby sometimes. Very few other consumer goods have pricing like this. You wouldn’t see Sony raise the price of a PS5 after it’s been lowered for example.

Get the impression zen 4 production has been drastically reduced or stopped entirely.
Would not surprise me, I know they have done this with the 5800X3D as well.

The 7800X3D has gone up £135 since I have been watching these on OCUK. Cheapest I saw they where £315

Given the price cuts in the 7950X3D I've no idea why you'd buy the 7800X3D. I seem to remember you could disable the non X3D cores on the 7950X3D if you were worried about scheduling anyway.

Wow ok... I looked late last night and they were £398, up £50 in twelve hours!

What's even more laughable to me is that the 8 core is now more expensive than the 12 :D

7950x3d still a pretty good price, but that's gone up £20 since last night as well

In the days before Black Friday events the price of everything goes up so that on the event day it all looks discounted. Its really manipulative cynical BS.

The 9800X3D is landing soon and probably at £450, at which point they will bring the 7800X3D back down to £400 (which is still more expense than the £350 i have seen it at) but it will look like its been discounted as previous gen stock, in reality its still over priced.

Its retailers who do this.

Maybe but but the DIY community seem to have throughly convinced themselves the 7800X3D is the only option. The 7800X3D is an extremely impressive part to fair. The performance on offer for 70ish watts is just plain bonkers.

AMD are also not blameless in this, at the request of retailers they don't make official price drops, the reasons for those requests don't need explaining, AMD only announce price drops on products if they are under pressure from tech jurnoes and actually bad sales.

On this note, that ^^^^ is rebranded this...

Its the same CPU with a 200Mhz clock bump, literally that and changing the name on the HS is all they did, it is £350.

DRR5 is cheap now.
CL30 6000 with RGB. £110.

LGA 1700 Motherboards are also not expensive.

All in £560 for the 12900K rig, decent parts, there is nothing crap in that bundle.
