I think they normallt drop on the day at around 2PMIs there actually going to be a preorder? Or is it just going to be a buy on 31st thing.
I have everything ready to upgrade now except the CPU, board and Ram but despite pricing on the boards dropping recently I don’t want to commit to anything yet in case there is some bonus features baked into the new board series. No one knows yet as AMD say how X3D works is being re-engineered, possibly with different chips having different cache sizes. In addition the new mobo chipsets and ram compatibility might make a further difference, so it's a wait and see
Not bad if true![]()

yeah right , we never get these prices. I bet its going to be £599 for 9950X and £699 for x9950x3d on release, prices may drop to £579 and £650 respectively after a few months with the usual excuses that the pound is weak, inflation, taxes etc ect.![]()

AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPU Prices Might Be Super Competitive If These Alleged Prices Are To Be Believed, Ryzen 9 9950X Flagship For $499 US
So AMD Flag ship cpu not going be an X3D one this time around
So why is there flagship 7950x CPU cheaper then a 7950X3Dx3d has never been the flagship cpu of the range. Flagships of last few gens were 5950x, then 7950x, now 9950x.
So why is there flagship 7950x CPU cheaper then a 7950X3D
I thought the 7950X3D was faster then a 7950x
I was thinking more along the lines of the previous version x3d cpu's, they referred to the 5950 etc as the flagship up until the 7000 series, the 7950 was considered the flagship cpu til the x3d arrived. If you look around at articles on the 9 series a lot of them are calling the 9950 the flagship cpu, until the 3d version arrives that is.
So is the new 9950x meant to be faster for gaming then the 7950X3D or do we have to wait for the new 9 series X3D cpu's to get released ?
