Those leaks were Iranian and its believed to be an engineering Sample, thus the user would not have access to the correct kit AMD issued, with the 3000mhz ram and the BIOS updates etc... i would take all of them with a large pinch of Salt.
Wait til you see official benchmarks tomorrow.
RAM speed is the smallest of small beans anyway.
6700K to 1700X...? Worthwhile? That's the question I'm eager to see answered.

The motherboard had no bios updates to fix mem issues......
I will say, looking at his results, if you look at 1080p res, the difference is negligible between the chips. Which is both good and bad.
