but probably wont stick it in my rig until its actually fully supported by MS...hmm must hold back on installing the shiny shiny

This is why it is painful - if AMD had been open about the SMT issue,and had delayed the launch until the patch had come out or even been more open about it on social media,it would have made AMD look a bit more competitive in gaming.

Now,its up to AMD doing a proper launch for the 4C and 6C with these in place.

On the bright side the 6 and 4 core chips will be reviewed with the fixes in place, presumably.
 
I pre-ordered one of these for my step father, he does quite a lot of gaming at 1920x1200 and some productivity. With the extremely high temperatures and lackluster gaming performance I'm sad to say I'm tempted to cancel and get a 7700k or 6800k Intel. What do you think?

The power is there and the price is great its just plagued with OS issues and bios problems memory at the mo ect ..but i am sure this will all be sorted very very soon they have too...

Hold... it has teething problems, some reviews are getting excellent gaming performance, IMO once all the issues are fixed that will be the reality of the CPU.

Funny thing is, the Crosshair I have coming from OCUK came through the distributor just around the corner from where I work. Has gone all the way up country, only to have to come back again.

They've got 1800X CPUs too, did have one on order through my work until OCUK decided to ship last minute, lol.
