I found a place in stroke on Trent that has 4 heroes in stock but can't quite justify the 80 quid + time in travel it'd take me to get there from Manchester.

There are places in manchester with stock of the B350 primes too.

both have 6+4 Phase count

May help squeeze extra Hz out of a 1700

Either way, I'm a bit tired now of searching and placed an order for the Asus crossfire hero VI with our lovely haribo thieves to show some more support. It comes when it comes but if a few more of you could cancel your orders that'd be grand

It's what 6%? behind the 7700k with probably little to no optimisation work... We'll never be able to get to the minimum playable frame rate with Ryzen. The PC is doomed as a gaming platform.

I'm still split between getting a 1700 vs 1800x.

I do want the fastest, even 100-200Mhz faster, and I am prepared to pay the extra to get it, but I'm seeing little evidence the 1800x actually clocks faster.

I've got a H110i so cooling shouldn't be a major issue but I also don't want to run insane voltages; I like quiet.

same here im glad i went 1700x not 1800x they clock same just silicon lottery and cooling. With wy external 360 rad and new block i can pump 1.4 24/7 in it no problem.

Doesn't appear to be the case, I would certainly go for the 1700 myself tbh.
