*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Got my ram, Asus B350 prime plus and r7 1700 all delivered today.

Has taken me flipping ages to get it all set up as redid my wc loop to drop my 420mm rad and just use 140mm and 280mm.

Just busy installing a bunch of stuff.

I wasn't going to Oc tonight, but.... You know... Will see how doing for time.

What are people using to monitor temps and stress test?

yesterday i made a post to ask if anyone done any win7 testing with Ryzen, to see if the latency issue is somehow resolved.
i found a post on reddit redirecting to anandtech , they were conducting draw calls tests, performance on Win7 was up to 17.8% faster than Win10, it was mandatory for reviews to be done on Win10.
anyhow it would be cool if we could see a Win7 gaming benchs for Ryzen and 7700, still wanna figure out if it's a windows scheduler issue, or lack of optimisation, if this is a solvable issue or not for Ryzen

This is what i want to see thx for the post

Yet again M$ at there finest :(

Long live win 7

AM4 will be a great platform to be on going forward too, we should get a whole bunch of upgrade options over the next few years.

My system is running great, gaming, progs. Tis awesome, 8core/16thread CPU and Mobo for just over £400. Can't complain at that price.

With regards to the gaming side of things, has there been any good reviews showing framerate minimums and framerate consistency (think they call it frame pacing) in real world gaming?
Personally max fps isn't really a priority, but have high minimums and framerate consistency is.

Still waiting on Digital foundry got an email from them should be next week sometime ..Rich States that he feels a new microarchitecture deserves deep dive testing....

But its looking like windows 10 as major issues with the scheduler so this has to be resolved before we have a true result with Ryzen

Aye pretty good deal, £408 heres as l went with the MSI Mortar. (Once the Mobo is instock!)

Do you run the game at 720P resolution?

Because if they put it at 2560x1440 or 4K the 7700K will seem pointless and total crap.
As it does on the 1080p benchmark video of the same reviewer who did the 720p video......

The Ryzen CPU is pushing the GTX1080 to it's limit, with half the cores snoring, while the 7700K struggles with it's all cores running.

Wait for the 1080ti to hit the market, and then going to be fun seeing the reviews with the Ryzen against the kabylake ;)
