*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Seems like it is taking AMD a while to get the new Agesa update out. We are almost mid way through May now.... maybe things are not going to plan?

Gigabyte put the new 1.0.0.5 AGESA out in their latest BETA BIOS yesterday.

Expect others to follow soon. This isn't the magic bullet memory AGESA, but it will help as it adds a ton of extra memory options (1T/2T selection for example). The 1.0.0.6 is meant to be the one that'll really bring widespread memory compatibility.

And that's 48 Zen+ cores, no?

It looks like 7nm is shaping up to be an interesting node.

We'll get Navi, high-core Zen+, and shrunk/refreshed Volta.

And if Navi can hold a candle to Volta, the 7nm GPU generation are going to be monsters.

Doesn't say but at 7nm yes it no doubt is.

And yes. even the Zen + Vega APU's should be pretty good, they might actually offer true 1080P gaming in a nice compact cost effective single platform, great for HTPC's

I wonder if 7nm will bring 8-core Zen+ & ~1500 Navi cores

If 4-core Zen & ~1000 Vega cores does nicely, it'll really spell the end for needing dedicated graphics on cheap gaming PCs.
