*** AMD "Zen" thread (inc AM4/APU discussion) ***

Do they ACTUALLY have more security? I am doubting it, unless they disabled some features on consumer versions.
So what motherboards will they slot into? Is it enterprise or regular X370 ect?
I think the features are disabled on the consumer ones because this is the first i have heard of them for ryzen.

Probably MB which are validated to use ECC
they appear to be AM4 chips weith the Server Grade features
  • Dram Encryption, moving dram to another PC its still encrypted
  • Secure boot tech
  • secure a process or software application from changes or FW upgrades (on the server they can use finger print recognition not sure if that applies here) this will be epic for Factories
it seems very clear by AMD

  • Ryzen + RX vega = Gamers /desktop
  • Ryzen Pro/Threadripper + VEGA frontier = Small business/ HEDT Workstations
  • Epyc + Firepro = Enterprise
this allows AMD to hit every sector of the market Giving them More features to each sector compared to Intel

  • Gamers/Desktop - Get OC ECC support - Cheaper too
  • Workstations/HEDT - Get DRAM encryption More Cores /OC & security per Process/Individual Encrypted DRAM per VM! - Cheaper than Xeon!
  • Epyc + Firepro - More Cores/More Threads, Open Source Standards, High end Security
Well done AMD, well Done. Ryzen Pro just Destroys Xeons Usage :D

Since the day they announced EPYC and looking at the power figures for Ryzen, I had a feeling that AMD was going to do well in the Server space. But the EPYC launch was icing on the cake. Honestly AMD must have felt so smug that day and rightly deserved. They hit every target that server space cares about and simply blindsided Intel.

Gigabyte Boards seem to be the best so far.

Yep it seems so. And on top EKWB released monoblocks for them today.

Wait, what, where...

LINK!!!!

Edit

NVM found it

AMD now have to translate that into actual sales
