Grand soul gem is biggest, but when you kill anything NPC or human-like you cant catch their soul with anything but a black soul gem so will always get that message.

How do u capture things with the soul gems? I have a few but some are empty...

Also what benefits is there by going a vamp?

You need the soul trap spell, but it requires mysticism skill of 25.

Come across a bug I think.

I was doing the Ulterior Motives quest for the mages guild, and at the part where the guy says come back in a day, I come back in a day and he says come back in a day again.

The first time he said it I went and did the Paranoid quest so maybe that messed it up...

azuras star is bigger - 2500 capacity + reusable

have you set that quest as active? that might help it trigger if its not. there is a lot of bugs in this game. one of the most annoying is when you kill an enemy and when he dies his weapon falls through a wall or something

ive had to reload many a fight just to get my hands on their weapon. then i realised turning on noclip and going through the wall is a better solution

Yeah it was set to active, instead of coming back in 1 day I came back in about 5.

I will leave it for a bit and then try it later on, im not in a rush to complete it or anything.

Not been playing Oblivion long but i have found a very useful map online, when I want to go looking for something to do, be warned this link is sort of a spoiler as it locates things on the map they you would normally have to search for.

May have been posted before, the guy how made it may add where you can pick up quests at a later date.

Should be useful when you are finish most of the game and your struggling to find quests and stuff to do.

Has anyone else noticed that turning on AA seems to pump up the bloom effect enormously or is it just me?

Ive got a X1800XT but I have been unable to enable AA via the Catalyst Control Panel. It works for other games but not for oblivion - if I want to have AA I have to enable it in oblivions graphics settings. Obviously, if I do this I cant use HDR. I have installed the chuck patch drivers from ATI, but as I said I cant enable AA in oblivion via the CCC - note: it does not enable AA in the game regardless of whether HDR is enabled or not.

Has anyone had this problem? How can I fix it?

Have you tried the new cat drivers? since ive installed them oblivion hasnt crashed when i exit the game

No, because the new cats dont have the chuck patch integrated with them. I wouldnt be able to use hdr and AA.

IGN has a good FAQ here. NB: It does explain the exact procedure for getting cured, what the quests are and entail, so if you don't want spoilers, avoid that section.

Just been browsing the net looked into Oblivions game engine the gamebryo, looking for info, as you do and found the company website that sells the gamebyro engine, and I was amazed to find the gamebryo engine is used in Civ IV.

Was just playing oblivion trying to get my destruction up to 50 (lvl 40 just now) and ive noticed that i will need to cast my spell about 640 times just to go up 10 lvls :eek:

Yer, it is very hard to get skills up. I guess it's easier if they are your main attack source, and just go and raid a few caves/dungeons, and you'll be surprised how quickly it will level. I am a marksman, and at level 96-ish in marksman, it can often go up 2 in one run.

I find Marksman, Destruction and Restoration take me ages to level despite using them frequently.

Alchemy and Conjuration take hardly anything to level though.
