Ok, this is a little annoying, I finally found the place in Imperial City where the woman is selling the house but she won't talk to me as she will only talk to friends, WTF am I supposed to do now

Use the speechcraft minigame or bribe her, when her disposition is maxed, try again, If her max disposition towards you is still too low you are going to need to get a potion of personality or somesuch twaddle and try again :)

Speechcraft  what is that, I am a mercenary that kills for a living, I don't do nice friendly things :p

Seriously though I think it is time for me to look into how to do the speechcraft thingy (I did it once, clicked all the quarters and she got angry)and to check where I can see the disposition :(

Ok start the minigame, hover the mouse over each wedge (coerce, joke etc) and see how their face reacts, you can only select each action once and need to have a large wedge in the favourable actions/ small in negative reactions to increase their disposition. The wedges all rotate clockwise when you select an action! erm hope that helps..It's a bit early to be describing this :D

Oh....or just hit bribe :D

The woman reacted well to joke, do I just click joke and wait for the timer to go to zero as I can't click it again?

Sorry no, you need to select each action once, the timer is in fact her disposition which drops if you just stand around :)

You need to repeat this several times to really get anywhere! There are always two actions that they like and two that they dislike. I found that eliminating negative responses with a small wedge in them first was the way to go :)

In that case it's not really a game, you just click the worst wedges first and the best after that as you can't stop after the best one.

/goes off to gamefaqs.com to look for a Speechcraft FAQ :o

Heh, I do that, especially on harder locks. I hate it when a lock just seems impossible and I can't get it done, or I decide not to bother and do it with the auto-try and it uses up 50 lockpicks opening a single door. That's when quick-load comes to my rescue. :p

Yeah, I'm going for the 2k one (I don't cheat and still at the beginning so only have 7k)

I just found that the size of the 'coloured bit in the wedge' is the strategy bit, I think I will get the hang of it, just a shame I have to work today so can only do it tonight :(

Well.. I'm now head of the Mages guild. The final quest was a tad bit easy considering the build up. I've found closing Oblivion gates harder at times tbh.
As a Battlemage I'm almost fully equipped with Daedric armor, just the gloves and helmet to go, all custom enchanted. Feet have feather, armor has "Heavy Armor" skill bonus on it, Shield has "Shield" on it (makes a huge change!), greaves have speed bonus on them IIRC.

Another question:
Last night I found a vest with 10% chameleon extra, when I equip that I sorta become invisible, but what does the 10% stand for

The visuals for any % chameleon are the same (Predator-style), but it will help your chances of staying undetected while sneaking a wee bit.

I have a couple of rings and a cuirass to give 80% which lets me remain undetected in the light as long as I'm not moving - I guess 100% would mean you would never get seen which would be a bit game breaking.

The end of the Mages Guild was pretty easy as a more warrior type I found aswell.

Speechcraft is pointless once you can make your own spells, charm spells are cheap to make and cast for short durations which is all you need.

Now I'm head of the Mages guild, and Arena Grand Champion, its very tempting to go off and join the Fighters guild and consolidate my position of power.

If I then make my way to the top of the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood I could create an army big enough to overthrow the kingdom and set myself up as dictator :D
