An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

Ive just started a new character as i got a bit bored with my level 26 warrior which i racked up 30 hours on but he did have a good run though. He was a blades guild master arena champion, knights of the thorn, and i was about half way through main quest.

Anyway my new character is called Auron hes a custom mage class which i called sith. Hes level 5 and im currently doing the mage guilds quests, im having a lot more fun being a mage than a swordsman, anyone else prefer being a pure mage.

1) Press ~ on your keyboard to bring down the console.

2) To add the item to your inventory, type the following:

player.additem 0004E940 #

Change "#" to the number of items you want. For example to add 100 of these items do:

Can you become a vampire by just fighting against a vampire without getting bitten

Do you people use a horse when travelling or fast travel and what happens to a horse when you fast travel?

Er, no - you have to be bitten (possibly a little tricky if you're Argonian).

Have started a new character now, as I got stuck at the end of the quest 'Caught in the Hunt', and only the console will resolve it. Also I can't find the hand-to-hand trainer to kill in the DB quest. As I don't like cheating, my evil wood-elf Croglin has retired.

Long live the battlemage Lord Lucan!

Edit: Your horse follows you fast-travelling, found outside city gates. Although I prefer to travel on foot, as I raises skills and you get loot (better than from the shops).

I thought so but I fought Vicente Valtieri (DB) and after that went to sleep and got a couple of messages like "your eyes feel dry" etc.... and I had really red eyes and white skin when I look at myself

Oh well, doesn't really matter, I loaded an earlier save, did it again and took a Potion of cure disease after the fight and it hasn't happened again.

He does ask if you want to be one, at the end of his quests, but if you're at the part of cleansing the DB, you're past that (last tab after pressing F3 will tell if you have vampirism).

I spent over 150 days as a vampire - caves, ruins and forts are you're friend when travelling long distances. Becomes quite profitable too. Oh, and only go outside between 8pm and 6am, if you do become one (the stat increase are nice +20 in quite a few). If you need to 'intergrate with society, just break into someone's house and feed off them while sleeping, or find a beggar - takes sun damage off, but lowers stat increases to +5.

Yes, you can. You just have to fight them to get the disease. Being bitten doesn't trigger it - the people you feed off never become vampires.
truth
that and looting their bodys sometimes, it says when you catch it tho (says about contracting somthing)

I must have missed that message when I was fighting and thought that you could only get it by being bitten (like in every other vampire story)

I only ever contacted it once, when in a cave full of vampire's, and one got close to me (was a sneaky archer). I did voluntarily get it from whatshisname in the DB quests though, but now this character's game got corrupted in the 'caught in the hunt' quest.

The hand to hand fighter for the DB quest is easy to find (after spending a hr looking for the damm thing ;) ) there is a trap door hidden under some bolts of cloth in a dark corner.

You must be phyically hit by the vampire (including by a weapon they wield) - magic attacks will not infect you. And if you want to be infected, remember that cave occupants respawn after about three game days, and if it was vampires last time, then the next respawn will be more of them.

And the disease is porphyric haemophilia.

nah, I've caught it 3-4 times now fighting vampires
this last time I've kept it cos its easy thought with a high sneek level to drink people.

That ninroot spawn 100 command will be usefull ;)

although yeah gotta admit if u do spend the game just wondering the land u find dozens of caves/baddies/gold but then its so boring on a ninroot quest!

As for the vampness well im sure can easily become one again, i belive theres a count who ask for the vamp cure to cure his wife during one quest, but i got the vamp cure mod cos at that time wanted to carry on the main quest;)

I went n bought it today, £20, not a bad price.

Played on it for a bit, and i think its great.

I've went and did a little bit of the storeyline (got the priest (son of emp) out of oblivion, close the gate, rescued the town, found the guy dead n got his ring, took the priest to the hideout, and now i'm meetin the guy from the start in the tavern and following him into the cellar) and now i think i may go exploring on my horse.

Does the temple at the start (where you get the priests horse from) heal vampire disease in its 1st stage?

Just ive heard you lot talk about it and dont want the disease yet.

I was going to bed now, but i've got an urge to start it back up, hmmmm.

I can see this game making me single.

Yes, any Cure Disease potion or altar at a temple will cure porphyric haemophilia. Just check your magical effects page after you fight any vampires and don't sleep before you check. you should be ok.

Thanks, but I'm physically stuck at the end of 'Caught in the Hunt' and the last dude (orc) can't kill the NPC, which then 'frees' me to kill the orc. Have reloaded numerous times!

Seems a lot easier as a battlemage though (compared to an archer/assassin type) - good and evil respectively too ;)

I think I read about a way to continue when you get stuck in that quest.
