An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I tried the OOO mod but some of the Imperial Guard had missing textures so I installed 'Francesco's Levelled Creatures and Items' mod instead. I must get the 'Where's my horse' mod as I have had the problem of finding my gee gee. 'Saddlebags' seems to me to be a cheat so I wont be installing that.

Your OOO install was screwed then. I had the same problem when trying to created OOO as an Omod to install via Oblivion Mod Manager. Ended up having to install it as per the OOO intructions, then using OMM for loading the rest of my mods.

Try giving it a re-install.
I think it would be worth it. Makes the game much more of a challenge.

*edit*

went with a warrior instead, the games kinda weird having no set path to follow.

i got to the castle @ the top of the mountain with the oblivion gate, went to get that martin? guy but he didnt wanna come till he knew it was safe or whatever, thought sod him and am doing a few quests in chorrel atm.

not a very fast paced game tbh, especially movement, but that might be due to me wearing heavy armor @ still lvl 1.

ohwell, will continue...

Ive been playing for nearly 4 hours now, and Im not even halfway to level 2! Atm Im stuck on a mission called Breaking the Siege of Kvatch and Ive just entrered the tower thing and its insanely hard. There are 2 goblins and a big knight thing and they take ages to kill and do a lot of damage back.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Nope, not at all. I've restarted (lost my saved games) and am lvl 4 and haven't even been to Weynon Priory for the free horse. I'm currently cleansing the Leyawin area from Black Bandits, and collecting Nirnroot.

One tip I do have is to do that mission now, and don't level up until you've completed it. This is because the NPC's in your group don't level up, and stay lvl4 - if you do it at high lvl they die immediately, low level and the actually help.

If you can't do it, come back when you're mid 20's lvl + and you should work it then.

What type of character have you got?

warrior was a bit boring tbh, too easy and repairing a lot got annoying.

so ive gone mage, had to use a command ingame to change to that thought as i went for the wrong one @ the beginning. wanted the fast mana regen you get " the beginning in the sewers but still dont have it.

only problem is, using the command resets all my minor skills to the same lvl as my character, 6... so im currently trying to figure out how to change them back as my endurance was up @ 22.

enjoying the game a little more now though, yesterday i got into the arcane university which is cool.

only thing really getting on nmy nerves is my horses keep legging it once i get off and go into a dungeon, so atm, i got no horses left :(

any1 know which class has the fastish mana regen btw?

Wood Elf Archer, I managed to do the quest in the end by running backwards and shooting arrows, but now Ive restarted also because I thought both the wood elf race and the archer class were rubbish.

Now I'm a Redguard Rogue I think

mana regeneration is dictated by the attribute willpower. your character class has no effect on it. keep increasing it when you level.
download the "callsteed + saddlebags" mod. buy the summoning spell in edgars discount spells. works a treat. just cast the spell and horsey is conjured up next to you..... except shadowmere, who is a stubborn awkward mule.

Wood Elf archer's are my favourite class, which is what I re-rolled. More of a thinking man's character since you have to be spacially aware and use terrain.

Battlemage's are good (Breton/High Elves), but I found them too easy and not challenging enough.

Warrior's hack'n'slash style just doesn't appeal to me.

I did have an evil wood elf (so evil I couldn't complete the MQ!), and a good battlemage that did complete the MQ. Every character/game is different too.

Well as i type im dl OOO to get me over the poor leveling system and back into this great game. Ive had about 3 characters after my main character disappeared off my hard drive and none of them made me wanna get back into the game :(
So ive decided to reap some life back into this game with this popular mod and remake my old character.
Just to make sure this mod im dl will change the leveling system like say if i was level 4 or 5 is should kill rats with ease but if i went up against a arena champion i would be dead in seconds is that right :)

exactly

took me ages to reach lvl2 , you know the guys in the dungeon oposite the sewers at th start. they will kick your ass 1st time you meet them I bet !

Just reinstalled this and I have a couple of questions:

I intend to install Oscruo's overhaul but should I install the official 1.1 patch first? (Will OOO still work?)

Secondly, once I've installed Oscuro's overhaul, what other mods are worth installing that will work along side OOO and not conflict with it?

Yes, patch it first, then OOO and its patch. I'm just using BTMod for the interface, the expanded hotkeys (needs the script extender) one and all the official plugins. Keep meaning to have a look at some of the texture mods though.

Been back playing it for the last couple of weeks but I'm running out of things to do and it's still 3 weeks until the expansion is out :(.

im using BTmod as well. Weirdly enough, in Windows add/remove programs

its about 5 gig.

It shows Oblivion 5.467 gig installed then shows BTmod Oblivion version 5.467 gig installed.

I get that as well, for some reason it doesnt show the values as a portion of the filesize. Instead it bundles all the data together and outputs the total filesize, but lists all the different programs. Hence why youll generally see the construction set listed as around 5gb aswell.

^^ Vague description, I know why it does it, im just not good at explaining it :p

I just started again after losing my massive levelled save. Im now an Orc warrior/barbarian sort of thing. I got a huge warhammer and kills most stuff in one hit, whereas before hand i was a khajiit thief. I love being so powerfull. :D this game is great even though i've almost completed it.
