An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I want a Skyrim remaster now

I'm hoping one day to be able to play both (obviously there is Skyblivion) with the same underlying mechanics and updates to interface like with SkyUI where you can use quickslots, etc. properly - it makes the gameplay 10x better when it just flows.

I think oblivion remaster has done enough to warrant a Skyrim version but who knows if it will happen or how far away it is

After all it's been 6 years since Bethesda released this..

And 14 years since they released skyrim! It's crazy to think if someone was 24 when they played skyrim on release, to play the very next released elder scrolls game that person would likely be 40 of not older. How can games exist like this when their players don't exist anything like they used to. Players go from single available people, to parents with 3 kids, house, tasks etc. So then they need plenty new players, but if they release the ES6 feeling outdated, will a new wave of young kid players be interested in playing it? Especially when if they know the follow up game ES7 will be 20 years wait.

I'm pretty sure they released an HD version of skyrim some what recently no? I wouldn't have expected anything more for skyrim any time soon given, especially given that although theecjanics are now outdated, they weren't as severely outdated as oblivion was.

What they should do is a proper remake of morrowind. Though I see we aren't too far off a skywind game coming in the next couple years.

I've been following the Skywind project for years, this if any is one I am looking forward to the most. I'm enjoying the OB remaster & I who knows I may even get to finish the game this time! It helps that the dungeons/caves etc are so repetitive I'm losing interest in entering them . Given the appetite for OBRM I think Tainted Grail will do very well, timing seems good for their full release. ES6 will be a monster I'm sure, just hope its not a troll..

There is a uniform blandness to the visuals possibly due to some procedural generation of variations i.e. areas of rock are all just pattern variations of the same thing. The lighting sucks - same with Hogwarts Legacy it permanently feels overcast even when the sun is out. But also a lack of character in the visuals - while some places look like a piece of art it still feels very technical rather than artistic.
Oh I forgot about the characters, some of the mouths look like they've been stuck on and just 'expand' when they smile. I swear the first guy you talk to on the main quest and the priory was bitting the entirety of his lower lip at several points. I also thought the hair looked weird too, almost like some sort of shaped plasticine.
Lighting looks flat to me, but I am using software lumen and I did notice the difference between hardware and software on the HUB video and it's pretty big.

And yet there's a few saying it runs perfect on my PC!

While doing 60fps to 100fps on a 5090, full FG and DLSS performance

TBF, digital foundry seen to have had issues with their system as they been having loads of Nvidia issues and then rated the last of us 2 as being very poor yet for many people that game actually runs incredibly well.

Performance feels good here on my system but you do have the usual UE traversal stutter.

I notice it has relatively high CPU usage at times, probably due to the way it runs the original engine combined with UE which may be causing issues for people on lower spec CPUs. Mostly runs fine on my 14700K + 4080 Super even with ultra settings and DLSS quality.

Looking at youtube and screen shots it looks overly brown to me. Is that the case while playing.

They should patch that in officially or make it an option you can toggle, because the brown looks terrible. When I think of Oblivion, the bright lush colours come to mind first.
