I'm not very far either, only started this character last night.

Have you joined the Dark Brotherhood? You get given a nice set of armor upon being accepted into the guild.

Ah.. no, where do i join??? I got this heavy armour. I'm assuming assasins use light armour like cloaks and stuff? Thanks for the tips. I'm just heading for the red arrow atm i was tld to head for. Using my night vision

It's tough playing as a thief/assassin. I can't really gain access to any of the major towns/cities without getting raped by masses of guards. And I'm not going to jail god damnit! :D My bounty is 3810 now

Well, I did go to jail once, just so I could break out for the fun of it :D

Does anyone know which town the Dark Brotherhood base is in? I can't remember

SPOILER!!! (Highlight text to see)

I stumbled upon a dark brotherhood building on my travels today. In Choydinhol, in the basement of a boarded up house. Scary music in the background and a big red door, I dared not enter :(.

Thanks. I'm a member but I'd forgotten where it was, it's the only place I know of at the moment where I can sell junk without getting raped by guards.

hi,

went back about 15 pages but couldnt see a solution, how do i increase the draw distance, I hear it in the oblivion.ini file but cannot find the correct option

Thanks

Came home from work to find it sitting outside my door :)

installed about 8pm and decided to make my char and have a little play, its now 11pm lol. Looks great, might need a few performace tweaks (and prob a xp reinstall) but happy enough at highish detail 1024x768. Loving the combat system, feels pretty nice with *** realtime blocking ansd spellcasting.

RAI rules too. I was in a tavern resting up after reaching the heady hights of level 2, had jsut gone upstairs when i heard "stop theif", ran downstairs to see a guard and the tavern owner laying into some random theif :D

will this game run maxed on

x1900
amd64 dual core 3800+
2gb ram

i got the game but doesnt run as good as i want, so time for upgrade :p

just picked it up today, awsome except the whole interface is a bit consoly looking, looks as if I was running it in 800x640 rather than my normal resolution, is there anyway to change this. Also a stupid question, how do you drop stuff? My manual is in dutch so I cant figure it out.

My spec:

X1900XTX
Athlon 64 3800+
2GB RAM

I'm running at 1600x1200, HDR on, everything maxed pretty much apart from some object view distance and shadow settings. Runs pretty well: More or less constant 75+ FPS inside caves/dungeons/buildings, average 40-60 FPS in towns, outside in areas of dense vegetation it can drop below 30, but it doesn't happen often.

Finally managed to pay off my bounty. I joined the thieves guild which allows you to remove your bounty for half price, it still cost me 2000 gold :o

Hi all,

Picked this up this afternoon - oddly enough only the second person in my town to buy a copy I was told - this was about 4pm.

Overall not bad - the graphics aren't as fantastic as the hype was making out but then again they don't cripple my system either (playing at 1280 x 960 on ultra high quality).

One thing that really really anoys me though is that this is so obviously developed for the 360 not the pc - its got an abysmal UI and it defaults to using the joystick with no method of switching it off without editing an ini file.
This is a very lazy port - the tutorial even talks about "using the stick" to perform certain actions.

The 2nd major problem (and it's directly related to the first is how the hell can you play a mage with only 8 hot keys (which aren't even shown on the screen whilst your playing) when you start with around 15 spells - I imagine this will only get worse (my mage just unlocked the 2nd tier of summoning spells and needs to train/buy them so I'm guessing that'll be more spells I need to swap out in combat)

Overall as I said not a bad game but this isn't a modern day Baldur's gate or even Neverwinter Nights

Bored of this game already :(

curse my short attention span, done the first oblivion gate and a little bored :(

thanks just done that but i cant see the fps anywhere

Sorry. I've been using "tdt" but that shows other information as well. I saw the "setdebugtext 12" in the official forum as only showing the fps but hadn't tried it yet.

I just loaded the game up to check it and you need to enter "setdebugtext 12" first and then enter "tdt" to show only fps. Remove all quotation marks.
