any tips for the arena? it seems the only way i can win is by climbing up the walls so they cant get to me, then flaring them to death
they take about 1/5 of my hp per hit so its no use trying to melee them, and i do almost nothing to them. i dont understand, i have not done many combat quests yet though maybe i just need more training, lvl4 currently and doing the theives quests
use your summon skeleton magic, it will effectively make it 2 on 1 for a short period of time... for early levels i found it essential to go in there with a fair wad of health potions... when your magic has increased a bit you'll be able to use better restore health magic.
when fighting people with swords, i find it best to stay back and use fire magic. that way they can't get close to you but you can still damage them (add that to the fact you've also got a skele running around attacking them for 30 seconds or so.)
if your facing somebody with a bow, break out your biggest and best sword/axe and just swing for the hills... hit often and quick enough and you wont give them a chance to even fire the bow...
but the best thing i can suggest early on is make sure you have health potions.

Is there anywhere you can permanently store things to lessen your burden?
without buying a house or using a lesser burden spell theres not much you can do i'm affraid. when your just starting out the game just try and make sure you carry the essentials (i.e. the armor you need, weapons you need, potions you need etc...) otherwise find a place you can store them like you've done, or just sell them and get some cash.
best thing i can suggest is do more quests, visit more towns... you'll find that either
a) buying a house can open up a quest which will give better items
or
b) doing a quest can give you a house (just got given one for doing a Dark Brotherhood quest
)
can't remember the answer to your second question....
what do you have to do in the quest? i'm rubbish with names
