An Elder Scrolls: Oblivion thead

I'm going to moan yet again about the state of the console-ness of parts of this game. It winds me up.... Maybe I need a lie down.

Dont bother urself with it. The modders will de consolify the crappest parts

Name save games (even tho if you manualy name them out of game it works fine),
Bound to be mods to change the leveling system as people dont like it,
someone will most likley improve different console aspects.

At least we have a choice to change it, its not like Rainbow six or anything where we dont have a choice but to live with the console port.

i dont understand why my thief is so weak, i can hardly beat anything in the arena and even random mobs around the world im struggling with, using the DB armour and silver dagger currently, im lvl8.

At first I made a Theif, then a mage and then another theif/assasin and now pure combat.

I seem to be doing okay with the pure combat build, I stopped using hte others because I couldnt explore anything as I would get my arse handed tome.

Well if you're cheeky he can be very handy for getting your sneak skill up. Just take him to a dark corner and pickpocket him repeatedly without actually taking anything. :p

Nah, i do that by casting an invisibiity spell and sneaking behind people. Bumped my skill from 10 to 25 in about 10min sneaking behind a guard :D

Has anybody tried killing him yet?

I've left him outside a gate an Anvil LOL

Everytime i exit that gate i keep forgetting to "pick" him up :p

Yeah, the persuasion mini-game is a bit stupid really, makes no sense what-so-ever

Took me a while to work it out. Basically there are 2 "right" and 2 "wrong" things you can say. The size of the circle is the "intensity" of the thing said.

So basically when you start off keep clicking the smallest circle and listen to the reply/look at the number in the middle. You can work out which things that person likes to hear. Then the tricky part is to make the biggest circle match with the 2 topics they like to hear and the smallest circle on the other 2 topics.

Anyway hope that helps, takes a while to get used to it but it saves a lot of cash bribing!

i can't believe people have trouble with it to be honest...

as soon as it starts, quickly look over all four parts of the circle to see the facial reactions (good, okay, bad, terrible)...
the bigger the piece of "pie" is the larger the reaction will be.
try and make it so the big parts are for the good reactions, small parts are for the bad reactions.
you only get one rotate so use it when needed (i normally do it after the first or second click).
you dont need to click on anything to see their reactions, just a mouse over.
there was a section at the start of the game to explain the mini game...

edit:
the number in the middle is their current disposition (i.e. how much they like you).
it is also a countdown timer, the longer you take the futher their disposition goes down.

The number of rotates seems to depend on skill level as when it's low you don't get any. I wonder as you become adept at mercantile if it goes up any more?

He runs off when theres a fight, and if you kill him he respawns. :( He's annoying.

Big thread, i only scan through the posts and hardly ever click on any links :D

It kind of sucks you can't get rid of him. I guess i'll just leave him at the Anvil gate until i can buy a house and put him in there as an ornament.

will someone please tell me where these damn dragon tongues and redwort flowers are???

it is really annoying me, i did not steal anything that the kick me out

Search along the north bank of the Panther River, around all the forts and structures. You are looking for red and yellow flowers.

You get one rotate for 25+ Speechcraft, no more than that, then the timer slows down for 50+, then bribes are cheaper or something at the next stage.

Just had a funny moment in game, there's a shrine quest where you have to let a guy kill you and then respawn, so I left my PC with my character getting beaten, came back just in time to watch my assailant die. Forgot I had two rings on for 22% reflect :o.

I told that hobbit to sod off straight away :D.
