LOLOLOLOL

I just finished watching gits sac and am now getting 2nd gig if i can, whilst this tedious process unravels itself I decided to watch Full metal Panic Fomoffu, man this is amazingly funny :D reminds me of Bleach but its more serious in the slapstick manner!

If anyone has links to importers where i can import 2nd gig dvd with subtitles then id behappy to know!

Well the Eva collection is officially closed untill they decide to release more evas, but I dont see that happening. But I have managed to find 2 Nadesico Aestivalis :D Something I have been looking for quite a while now. Also with the impending US theatrical release of Appleseed (2004), they will be selling some figures, so Im gonna get me a Guegess

However, Im still searching for a tachicomma model (SP?) from GiTS:SAC.

Which Aesti's did you get? (i didn't realise they were available as models)

Nice looking Appleseed model:)

As for Tachikoma's, I haven't seen any at all in model form, but I suspect it's only a matter of time as they are pretty popular and I can't see the marketing types missing out on the chance to make a bit more money:)
I think there was a model of the spider tanks from the first film at one point, but I can't remember any details of it (unless i'm thinking of one of the garage kits).

Lost Corpse, I've run into the same sort of shelf problem (or will be soon), so I'm looking at making a cabinet (floor to ceiling) with doors to replace some of the shelving with something that looks nicer and holds more DVD's, i'll also probably do it so that it can hide my modem/router/switch and associated wiring.
I was looking at some in Homebase of all places (fairly nice with frosted glass doors, half price @£30) which gave me the idea, but it was the wrong colour for my room and wasn't really big enough as it only held 100 DVD's, and probably wouldn't take some of my bigger boxes :)

only 100 DVD's? hmm sounds small to me :) I have a problem with my Zeta box set :( its pretty large and takes a lot of shelf space. £30 seems like a good price though, The glass doors sound good to :)

Has anyone taken the chance to watch some anime over the holidays? (whilst off work etc)
If so what?

I've been a bit under the weather for the past few days so have taken the opportunity to sit down and watch some of the stuff that i've had lying around for a while, including Ranma½ season 1, which i've got to admit had me laughing my posterier off in places.
I've restarted Last Exile and i'm enjoying it more the second time round, i'm also really enjoying the dub (it's very well done, honest) :)
I'm hoping that i'll be a bit clearer on a few things once i've finished it, as watching something over the space of 12 months does tend to leave you forgetting what happened at the start ;)

And to top it off, my Eva Platinum 4 and Macross Box sets arrive this morning (the macross sets had a customs charge though
bawling.gif
), so i'm going to make a start on them tonight :).

My Macross Box sets should arrive this week along with my latest anime order yay :) its nice when they miss the customes but its all part of the anime life :(

started watching gasaraki, just not managed to drag myself away from the rest of the world for long enough, on the first episode on disc 2 (why does this disc only have 2 epispodes?!?) and my g/f has got FMP mission 4 (finaly) so i can watch that and then 5 6 and 7 that i got while i was waiting on her getting me 4....

Karbon, are you sure that Gasaraki disc 2 only has two episodes?

The R1 disc i've got here has 3, and even if you've got the ADV UK release it should have 3 (ADV UK DVD's are generally straight copies of the R1's, just converted to PAL and with the trailers changed).

Lost Corpse, I've not heard of Hanaukyo Maid Team La Verite that i can remember, is it any good?

im pretty sure, im jsut sticking my Xbox on jsut now to check (and yea its hte R1)

ah yes, indeed i am talking rubbish, op 3 is called return, i took that as a return to menu or something like that.

Macross Zero is indeed pretty good, the animation is really good, the story is pretty good and it has some very nice characters (i'm told it fleshes out a couple of characters from the original Macross quite nicely).

About the only thing that i think let it down a bit compared to what i've seen of the other Macross series/ova's etc is the music, it didn't have much that stood out unlike Macross Plus with it's soundtrack by Yoko Kanno, and the various songs and music from Macross and M7.

"too many anime is hard work when you can hardly keep your eyes open"

Very true, it's one of the reasons I tend to watch a lot of my anime dubbed as i'm often not feeling particulary alert when watching it, and it's much easier to catch the details when i'm not having to constantly switch my focus between the subtitles and the animation :)

Hanaukyo Maid Tai: La Verite

Type : Comedy, Ecchi

Description :
When 3rd year middle-schooler Hanaukyo Tarou`s mom died, he moved to live with his grandfather in Tokyo.
When he gets there, he is stunned by the gigantic mansion with it`s countless maids.
He is the grandchild of the incredibly rich Hanaukyo Family`s head, Hanaukyo
Hokusai. But also, since Hanaukyo Hokusai has no heir, Tarou becomes head of the Hanaukyo family, which is controlling half Japan!

The maids who look after Tarou are: Mariel, the chief maid, Tsurugi Konoye, who is in charge for security, Suzuki Ikuyo, in charge of arts and Grace, the computer expert and many more. Those specialist maids, all having special skills, form the Haunaukyo Maid Squad.
And their only duty is to "Serve Master Tarou!"

I haven't seen the subs of this one yet there was an older version which i like. I was more asking if anyone had seen it and wondered what they thought of it. The Region 1 version is being released next month.

Agred.

Although Subs can be hard work as you say WereWolf the english direct's have been known to make pretty big changes to the shows almost changing the entire premise of the show. so some times its worth putting in that little extra effort. though shows like Hornted junktion never got an English release instead came over as Sub only. Thats show has some funny moment also the main female has a shonan complex (think thats the right word) witch you dont see much of in anime. nice change indead :D

only anime ive managed to watch is dead leaves.... one of the weirdest anime's ive seen, yet its pretty cool... only 45 mins but worth a watch

stack of films to watch, not enough time to watch them :(

BG Crash isn't a sequale to 2040, its kind of a sequal to 2038 (the orignal show) theres a few years between the 2, thees very tittle if anything connecting the 2 to geahter.

You could try AD police the updated version and Yuki kaza spring to mind. Maybe Zone of the enders.
Depends on what sort of tastes you have.

thanks, now you've described it, the series rings a couple of bells, i think i've read a synopsys or two on another board - it's not one that i'm planning on getting at the moment (trying to cut down on the anime a bit* so only ordering titles i'm sure about)

re the dubs, that is true, but it's not as common with mainstream releases (not kids versions) as it used to be :)

I do watch a lot subbed as well, but much of the time i'm a dub viewer if i'm watching something casually (especially if i'm keeping half an eye on the boards at the same time, or feeling under the weather) :)
Basically I'm not fussed either way unless either it's a particulary bad dub (I do actually check a bit before so i'm aware of major changes), or particulary fast action anime with a lot of speech at the same time in which case i'll stick to whatever is best suited for understanding what the hell is going on :)

*i've got a spreadsheet here with every anime disk i've bought/ordered, the release/dispatch/delivery dates and the prices - I worked out how much I spent on anime in 2004 and it scared me :p (although not as much as 2003 did)
