Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania (Marvel)

Watched it. Enjoyed it quite a lot. Seems to really set the scene for phase 5 well. Will definitely watch again when it hits D+. Better than most phase 4 movies.

1 mid credits scene and 1 post credits

Johnathan majors steals every scene he is in, just like he did in the final episode of Loki.

Good to hear, I think our opinions are generally fairly comparable on MCU (except Eternals)
Not sure when I'll be able to see it, usually see them with my dad but he's on holiday until next week.

Watched and was disappointed, really disappointed.

Why even add wasp in the name, she only done 1 significant thing in the film.

The heck is up with Cassie suddenly became a genius by reading grandpa's notes

Seriously though, why even focus on her? She builds a locator in 5 years that that no one else has.

Modoc worshipped Kang but then turned against on him because of Cassie, lol. Kang was able to build an advanced empire, they didn't exactly show how, wasted scenes. His tech is so advanced but can't make the 'primitive' tech required to shrink the core.

He is able to freeze people but doesn't near the end. The ants for some reason lived there for 1 thousand years and became really smart but the others didn't. Kang conveniently gets erased at the end.

Post credits, all those kangs cheering like fan girls, they don't look like serious threats at all. What was even the point of bill Murray? No flashbacks, nothing
4/10

Do you ever find yourself disagreeing on a film with your "favourite" youtube reviewer? Or does a negative from him just mean you won't go to the cinema to see that particular movie?

Sorry if it came across as rude, it was a genuine question but I put it across in a pretty crude/sarcastic way. As per your question, whilst everyone will have a favourite reviewer I generally try to pick a few so at the moment it's Chris Stuckman, Jeremy Jahns and Critical Drinker who have similar tastes to myself and all three cover a wide range of viewpoints. So far I've disagreed with all 3 over various films (Drinker slating Fifth Element ) but they are most definitely the very rarest of occasions so generally if all 3 pan a film and the trailer looks poor then I'll give it a miss, whereas if only one out three says its bad I'll give the trailer a go and decide from there.

However, generally I find that I watch far less cinema nowadays than say 10+years ago. I think the last 3 films I saw in the cinema were Dune, TG Maverick and Spiderman: No Way Home (enjoyed all 3) as I'm quite picky nowadays but I think the "target audience" for the vast majority of modern films just doesn't include me anymore and, TBH, I'm OK with that. So instead I look towards more foreign films now or fall back onto old 80's classics that I've watched dozens of times and, to me at least, haven't been bettered by there re-makes/re-imaginings.

Ok so this was essentially Tron Legacy x John Carter for me.

Kang was good but
His whole thing was his 'tech' was advanced, which we can then apply to any character. At least with Thanos it made it clear very early that the Infinity Stones were all powerful objects in that universe at least but completely undone in Loki etc so I think it generally lessens previous movies and lore

I thought all characters had their moments including Hope so not sure why she has been downplayed in a lot of reviews but meh.

Some creative and interesting ideas in the creatures/people of the multiverse.

Was generally entertained and Kang was an interesting villain but the stakes just aren't up there due to the multiverse dynamic. End of the day there can be 1,000,000x versions of a character so that just reduces the threat on a basic level as Dr Strange Multiverse indicated.

6.5/10 - It was entertaining, fun, pretty standard and safe. Certainly preferred it to Thor Love and Thunder as that just annoyed me.

Further note re the MCU:

Why in the hell would we care about Wakanda Forever? There are millions of multiverses etc they need to bring the universe people have joined back to the forefront and why that is important.

Watched it today and it defo wasnt a 4/10 like some had said. It was not the most amazing thing Marvel produced but it was a good enough movie imo. 6.5/10 perhaps. Bit weak in the plot in some parts but also ticked a lot of boxes as well. Much much better than love and thunder imo.

Ruby Rod is awful, it’s part of what makes 5th Element so great
:D

He so bad he is good. he was a good laugh :)

just watched it -

not best film ever but a good marvel film, probably in line with a Dr Strange or something

yeah a good watch if you seen all the other stuff, its way better than love/thunder and waaay better than TFATWS or MM or SH

helped that the new bad guy is pretty decent, and feels like a part of the actual storyline where as a lot of the new stuff has felt pretty superfluous (like shang chi or eternals)

Really enjoyed it to be honest, me and my friends were laughing throughout. Thought the humour and call backs from the previous were fun and nailed really well.

Also I think they did a decent job of setting up the MCU going forward, it least it will have an impact going forward. With any luck Phase 5 will continue to pick up pace now.
