You could at least make a difference in this country (impossible to do in the ME in my opinion because of the lack of education) to perceptions of Islam and Muslims....but you won't do it sat on your arse and bitching about how your people are "misunderstood"!, or as so many muslims do, telling us how no-one loves you and how much the Zionists run the World.....it requires effort on your part.

If something like this is far less important than your personal issues, and you can't see the longer term repercussions that could result if you continue to sit idly by whilst Jihadists and terror groups usurp the true meaning of your Prophets message, then rightly or wrongly you will be an accomplice to their future actions in the eyes of many people.
A denunciation by the MCB in a newspaper without any real action to back it up is like a murderer killing someone and being told not to be a naughty boy and run along home and play.
If you want to be heard and seen as the "true" face of Islam in this country then it is up to you, the moderate muslims, to get off your backsides and get your own house in order so that it reflects what you tell the rest of the population it represents!.

I really dont want to be heard and I dont really care, I just want to get on with my own life (I do have a life you know, I dont sit in front of the PC all day moaning about stuff)

Plenty of positive things to report, IIRC I read on here than a church local to a member was converted into a mosque/social community center which was open to everyone and ran after school classes to help with homework etc, isn't that positive, thats probbably run by "ordinary" people but I can probbably bet the usual suspects will come along onto here and go OMG!!! OUR CHILDREN IN A TERRORIST BREEDING GROUND "COMMUNITY CENTER" WTF, ENGLISH CHILDREN TERRORISTS NOW OMG THEY SHOULD RESPECT OUR CULTURE AND STOP BRAINWASHING!! - what a load of cobblers.
Ususally the minority doesn't win so I doubt its possible for the minority of "jihadists" to completely overrun Islam.

On a serious note all I've been hearing about telling muslims to get off their backsides what do you actually want them to do? Stop going to work and school just to convince those who think all musilms are evil or whatever that not all of them are? I would have thought by expressing their views to people they come across is more than enough?

Sometimes people just wont listen to us, as jamoor said previously the minority never win so these extremists really have no chance of converting all muslims in the world to their cause. Because luckily for islam theres quite a few muslims out there that have a brain in their heads and tend to use them rather than get sucked into all this extremist crap.
Tbh im kinda getting bored of being told to do this and do that, thats why up until 15 pages later i havent made any posts up till now....the cartoons were not funny in any way shape or form...anyone who thinks they are funny needs their morals looking at tbh.....if anything they were highly insulting to islam as a whole. Perhaps christians dont mind Jesus being ridiculed...thats their problem, if they find it funny then good for them....but we muslims do find it insulting when someone ridicules one of our prophets, who just happens to be a very important person in islam.
But us expressing our views and condemnation of these death threats are never enough, it never will be because our voices dont sell papers simple as that plus theres too many muslim haters on this forum...judging by some of the comments in here.
Anyways im done with this silly thread, all its done is to further increase tensions in here and a Don that i spoke to earlier also agrees with me. But sadly he hasnt got the authority to do anything in here which is fair enough

Personally I thought the cartoons were crap, and all the hysteria has done is ensured they got a far larger audience than they would ever have achieved on merit.
I fully support the decision to publish them though.

What I can't understand is why do people who hate the West and what it stands for choose to live in the West? My guess is to preach hatred and stir up trouble. We silence the BNP (although I think they talk rubbish) and allow this to take place. Could you imagine what would have happened if it had been a bunch of skinheads chanting against Muslims. The Police would have gone in strong with riot gear and beaten the carp outa them.
Well theres things WE dont like about the west, it doesnt mean we dont want to live or work here, but that some things could be changed - aka the very tentets of our democracy. If you have a turban it doesnt absolve you of the right to question.

On a serious note: I don't want our devout Muslim friends to go out protesting, I want them to disown and expel these so called extremists from their mosques ..... yes, you DO know who they are, or at least, someone in your local community does.
I can't believe that anyone would want to be wrongly associated with the sort of primitive, violent people that we have been seeing.
As I said in a previous post: Every reasonable, devout muslim will say "these radicals are not true Muslims" and expect us all to believe them; shame that they are too busy with their personal problems to worry about their faith being hijacked.
Don't be surprised when people start to treat all Muslims as terrorist then; ....... I know that some Muslims think that to be the case already; ..... I mean the reasonable, civilised and tolerant (so far) people of the world.
If you ain't prepared to do anything to disown the fanatical thugs within your community, accept the fact that you will be thought of as the same .......... oh, I forgot, you really, really don't give a **** do you..... go tend your goats then.
