I can accept that is your perfectly valid subjective opinion. Objectively it is of course wrong from a price/perf perspective based on current UK prices (your metric).

I will probably upgrade my 3060Ti to a 7800XT.. think its around 50% perf increase for me from a quick look at benchmarks and obvioulsy double the VRAM.
Anybody know if the Sapphire Pulse has a Dual BIOS?
~30% raster increase.
15% RT increase at 1080p and 1440p.
40% RT increase at 4K (obvioulsy a VRAM issue here) but don't expect anyting playable on either GPU.
Only you can decide it it would be worth it.

If you are not wanting to upgrade for 4 years either is good for 1440p. For 4K 60fps then go for the 7900XT. But then you might be tempted to spend another £200 to get the XTX for better 4K performance. Choices/decisions!

I currently have a 1200p monitor (yeah I know slightly odd decision that one but wasn't bought for gaming) but looking at 1440p deals now. No intention of going 4K and as you say I'd like this to last a good 4-5 years ideally. My 1070 is 7 years old now, although to be fair needed upgrading for a while now.
For that I think the 7800XT is probably plenty, I think the 7900XT would be overkill..

Lol @Gibbo you could have said the 7900xt pulse was getting a drop to £700. I bought two days ago at £750 thinking that was the deal. It went back to £800 and within a day down to £700. Gotta love it.

I have a 3070ti and not bothering. I run at 1440p and choosing to skip this gen and just dial back graphical settings.
The only significant upgrade in my eyes from current GPU is to a 7900XT or a 4080 for 50%+ raster performance uplift. I've ruled out the 4070ti due to 12GB VRAM.
The 4080 is just eye wateringly expensive and whilst the 7900XT at £700 is mighty tempting, I simply can't justify that for what is technically a 6800XT replacement. I paid £540 for the 3070ti and that's pretty much top end for me.
So hoping next gen will see 7900XT type performance at this £500 price range.
Mind you, I'll probably bite if the 7900XT ever appears around £600 between now and then

It's true but it's just more of the same marketing BS that we've been seeing from both companies, marketing depts always seem to end up destroying companies.

RT doesn't outweigh raster performance imo. RT is a feature you turn on/off - it is a nice to have. You still need a card with basic grunt to power through games. You can play games fine without RT. PS. Not disagreeing with you that RT is superior on Nvidia cards.

If you got it from here call them, they might refund the difference with it only being a couple of days.. they know you can send it back within 14 days and buy another at the lower price

Just something else to note. 7800XT sold out in the USA very quickly.
I know someone said OCUK had only sold 20 or so, but they missed something. OCUK are offering a pre order, not a next day card like others. So a lot of people would have bought them from somewhere else. Somewhere else was also cheaper, which would explain it.
I also don't understand OCUK's yoyo prices on these cards either. Or the 79 cards, or the 6000 cards.
