Rumor - 7800XT basically equals 6800XT on Timespy.

Hmmm, back and forth, starting to think a £600 6950XT is going to be a better buy than this, especially if the 6000 series gets FSR 3.0.

yea i didnt keep it long, but being young and dumb ignoring reviews :p

I read the reviews and thought ATI is making a good card! So the 9500 PRO was probably my first ATI card!

Not so sure if the RX7800XT starts at £480ish?

6950XT's have sold for as little as £520 recently. If I could get a 6950XT for that price then I would probably choose that over a 7800XT as the 6950XT should be a bit faster.

I'm expecting more like £550 and above, the 6800XT is £500 plus.

RRP is $500 so that is £473 with 20% VAT. If you look at the Euro price, its 549 Euro which is around the same(German VAT is 19%).

TPU have the RX6900XT around 7% faster than an RX6800XT at qHD. So around 10% if the RX6800XT is slightly worse at higher resolutions.

AMD really should have allowed reviews a bit earlier.

You're not factoring in the UK price gouge, I suspect something like a Nitro+ will be closer to £600 than £500. Hope I'm wrong.

At launch the the rx7600 was pretty close to rrp? Cards like the Nitro+ will cost more even in the US,just like the equivalents for Nvidia.

Remember,AMD is pricing it under the RTX4070 for a reason. Just like the RX7600 was priced under the RTX4060,which has similar rasterised performance.

I had been waiting on the 7800XT to come out to replace my GTX 1070, I will wait on the reviews, but I feel that it will me more of a disappointment than a surprise.

I've decided to wait on Intel's Battlemage next year before I buy anything and though no idea on the performance, I have liked the work Intel have put into there drivers and that they provide updates regularly with increasing performance improvements, and they listeded to the there customers complaints, the overlay being one instance.

If Intel pull off a surprise with Battlemage then it will make an interesting 3 way contest, with AMD and Nvidia.

I said when the 7900xt came out and was dangerously close to the 6950xt in a lot of things that AMD wasn't leaving itself a lot of headroom to slot in cards from the 6800xt to 7900xt

Both companies ****** up their numbering schemes/marketing badly this generation to upsale their dies

AMD should have just called the RX7800XT,an RX7800 at the very most(even though it is an RX7700XT).

Indeed, hence I didn't want to play their games. At least the 6950XT was a high end card and a "bargain" at the reduced prices. Unfortunately they've got drunk on the huge margins and want to see it continue.

I would love for there to be a strong third player in the GPU space but you can't even play Starfield on an Intel GPU!

If we are going back to this argument 4080 must have been a 4070 and priced £500 and amd still back on medium range segment :)
It is what it is, they hold all the cards and GPU's! The only thing the consumer can do is not buy, but that's not a great option if you "need" one. Doesn't mean we have to like it ;)
