Any religious people watch the Wonders of Life last night?

I agree adaptions do happen. I am simply saying the big chances (macro) do not happen.

And what has made you come to this conclusion? Please don't tell me your logic is as simple as "I've never seen a dog give birth to a duck"?

And for the record, I've threatened no one. I am merely stating that these keyboard warriors wouldn't insult me in person

Why wouldn't they though?

Just interested what you think about the scientists theory that all life came from the same place and how it doesn't really make us special; just a stage in evolution.

As you go from species to species, apparantly our DNA code is 60% that of a chicken, up to 99% of a chimp.

I'm religious, and that all sounds perfectly fine to me.

As for your last question, how do you know Noah wasn't black? You can't rely on those biblical drawings which were done thousands of years after the stories were written,
:D

you say you can't rely on drawings made thousands of years after the stories were written but you feel that you can rely on events depicted in the bible as being correct?

The Adam & Eve story, Noah's Ark & all the others are just that - stories written by scribes who had no idea of the size of the Earth or the age of it, no idea of other continents & the animals that might be found there,no idea of the vastness the universe or distances to other stars.
That their descriptions of how life began are taken seriously & considered to be fact by so many people who no longer have to be afraid of being burned at the stake is beyond belief in the world we now live in.

Religion is what you believe & not what you know.

Jason2, here's an analogy for you to explain the "macro" evolution you keep denying:

You've got 2 lines sheets of paper, each 1km long, you mix up some paint, 1,000,000ml red paint.

Paint the first mm of each sheet of paper red.

Then you mix up some more paint - for the first sheet of paper you mix 999,999ml red, 1ml yellow, and paint the next mm, make some more paint, 999,998ml red, 2ml yellow. Paint the next mm. keep repeating this until you get to 0ml red paint, 1,000,000ml yellow paint.

On the second sheet of paper, instead of yellow paint, you use blue.

Now if you look back over your sheets of paper, you'll see that actually there aren't any "big changes", but it's undeniable that one end of the paper is red, and the other end is yellow/blue.

Of course if you look just at the start and end of the paper, you could easily mistakenly believe that a "big change" has taken place.

If someone calls you stupid and deluded would you not class that as an insult? Look, I can take words all day long, they don't bother me at all.

The first person to use 'deluded' in this thread was Spook187 above, which was done after you made the claim about people insulting you so you can't really use that.

The only person to use the word stupid so far is, guess who, you! Raymond Lin compared God to Santa Claus and you said....

Santa Claus came from St Nicholas who, ironically, was a christian. Comparing that to God is just stupid.

So again, where are the 'insults' you referred to in post #125 and secondly, why can you claim other people's logic is stupid but not have the same criticism leveled at you?

I didn't say he is stupid though, did I? I said his statement is stupid, which it is. This is nothing I wouldn't say to his face.

And like I said, I can take criticism. Words don't bother me, least of all on the internet.

I agree but that doesn't detract from the fact you've claimed you've been called 'stupid' in this thread when a quick search shows you haven't and that the only person to even use that word was yourself.

And like I said, I can take criticism. Words don't bother me, least of all on the internet.

Which is great, but you still need to defend your initial claim that people are insulting you as I've seen no evidence of it.

Because it doesn't exactly portray Atheists in a very good light if you insult religious people just because they are religious :)

What about insulting an adult who believes in the tooth fairy/gandalf/easter bunny/santa claus just because they believe in the tooth fairy/gandalf/easter bunny/santa claus?

I'm sure they don't have the same kind of emotional investment in Santa Clause than they do in Jesus/god/church etc :)

If you want to engage someone and challenge them, the best way to do it is to invite debate without trashing their beliefs from the start.
