Anyone got the Antec 900 yet ?

Well i'm going to get one... If it causes this much discussion it can't be all bad...

And i want to run a dual crossfire x1950xtx rig so the fans could be a great asset..

And particularly like the tray for the mp3 player/camera angle with the buttons on top... Nice1

Haven't bought it yet but hoping to buy this later on thisd evening.. Waiting for a couple of threads to be answered.......... Jumping with joy... hehe

Does anyone know if the grilles on the front of the case are plastic or metal ?

And has anyone had a problem isntalling a video card into the top slot of the motherboard ?

Thanks.

I wonder has anyone used this case with a bad axe or any mobo where you have to put the video card into the first pci slot. Supposed to be a problem getting the dvi connector to fit.

They are metal and painted/coated...

My 1950xtx fitted right in.......

Still building... Will post some photos when finished..

Can the blue LED's on the front fans be disconnected or turned off at all? Very interested in the case for its cooling abilities, but I HATE flashy LED's!

geez i read all posts and still no pics!!

just seen what antec have next to the case on there site....

Introducing the Antec Nine Hundred hardcore gaming case. Now you can own any noob ever spawned with this ultra-mean case in classic black finish. We know your gaming hardware produces a lot of heat, that's why the case is built for maximum cool with a perforated front bezel, three 120mm fans with mounts for even more fans, and a monster top-mounted 200mm fan that's right, we said 200mm! The versatile Nine Hundred is maximally customizable to fit your needs. The modular design lets you modify the placement of the front fans and hard drive cages. There's even a tray on top for your mp3 player, digital camera, or that spare illudium Q-42 explosive space modulator that you have lying around. Be the envy of everyone at your next LAN party, impress your friends, and just generally show everyone that you are the ultimate master of all time with the Antec Nine Hundred!

There is still a concern if your video card goes into the very top slot then it may not be wide enough for the dvi connector to attach on the outside. So far have not met anyone with this particular config.

There's loads of room. There is even room for the mp3-in connection (extra on p5w dh deluxe mobo) or you could have your firewire/usb ports located above it.

I'll post some photos later this afternoon... Just putting final touches to it...

Nearly done and haven't even connected the 200mm fan at the top.... All the other fans are on lowest setting.. There 3 settings for these fans... Sides are off and system temp is showing 35 and cpu 31 degrees... interesting to see whart it'll be like with sides on and the fans cranked up... Then i'll turn the nutter b*stard big fan on top on...

The build quality i think is excellent. Even the plastic which doesn't look cheap and or like flimsy plastic, if that makes sense.

The hard drive enclosures (x2) slide out the front for easy access. The front panels to this aren't all in line, but that's just being picky... You wouldn't notice to look, just to feel.. Like i said picky.

Having the PSU located at the bottom, does give some more room to work in and is obviously designed that way because of the big fan at the top...

Bit of a tight squeeze to get to stuff when everything is in, but that's probably 'cos of the rubbish way i've wired it which is what i'm off to do now...

Oh word of advice... Think carefully if you are using the scythe ninja plus, of where you are going to locate the supplied fan... On two sides there are fans already, the other is right next to the ram and the other is above the gfx card..... Which is the side i have mine on.....

Right... off to rewire this thing and tidy it up and then see what it can do for cooling..... It is a top case....

haven't used an Akasa eclipse which was my other option...

Nuff writing... sort my case.... (And i can run F.E.A.R maxed out - hehe.)

Thanks for all that info.
I really look forward to seeing some pics soon.

The motherboard you are using is an Asus P5W DH ? This has a pcie 4x slot above the pcie 16x slot that you video card goes into. This means you will always have room for the video card as you can loosen the pci bracket in the pcie 4x slot above it to centre the video cards dvi connector so the cable will attach. On my badaxe the pcie 16x slot IS the top slot. There is no pci slot above it just metal. This means if the dvi connector on my video card won't centre correctly I am snookered. However OcUk are offering this case with the bad axe mobo in Crossfire, so maybe it is ok.

yer can we get some pics asap :D

im also looking into buying this case as my current one is ****. and i love the look, just not sure how things would fit till i seen some examples.

cheers, Rich.

Done !! Finally........ Well almost (read below).

One problem is that with the scythe ninja plus cooler, you have to place it over the ram otherwise you have to force the case shut. The side panel additional fan mount clip presses on the Scythe ninja cooler fan... Which isn't ideal... To the rear of the case is a fan and then the top of the case has a fan so you can only put it on the right hand side over the ram. I'll move it tomorrow....

The rear fan. top fan and 2 front fans have 3 settings, low, medium or high, but don't plug into the motherboard so no chassis fan monitoring...

Right some photos...

I've posted them onto my site for ease of use...

If you want any additional information or photos let me know and I'll do what I can....

Cheers mate. Thanks for the pic. Studying them now :)

It looks like an 8800gtx would be a very tight fit in that case. It's certainly not as deep as the Akasa. Pity about the hassle with the Ninja too.

I'm going to put it on the right hand side of the ninja and it shouldn't interfere with the ram. The case will shut properly then without any stress on the fan...

Are there any other photos I cantake that would help you out further??

Try this link as well... It has all the photos on. They're better resolution as well so you can zoom in on them.

yer looking good mate, can you just confirm that the power buttons are on top by the usbs?

and did you have any problems with cables not reaching? (one thing im worried bout if i do get one)

also would you be able to check the clearance from the mobo to the fan mount clip as i have an akasa evo which is fairly large approx 13cm tall i think and im not sure it would fit.

No problems with the cables at all... Were there any inparticular that you thought could be a problem ??

The power on switch is to the right of the usb points and the reset is to the left.

The tray above it is very handy for mobile, pda, camera, camcorder and archos vid player for the usb connection... Very ingenious. Might try my wine on there next.

The usb cables form the front panel are just long enough, bearing in mind that my firewire on my mobo is bottom left of the board as you look at the side of the case.. There is no tension on the cable but it's snug.

Clearance : The fan mount clip hits my ninja fan as you can see in the photo. And gives a inch clearance otherwise. I'll add another photo of it...

I have to say, i'm very impressed with the case and i'm running at cpu 28 degrees and the fans are on low... Might turn them all up to max in a min and see what happens... Prob blow the window out of the wall..

My floppy drive is in the 3rd bay down sunk back so I could put the front panel back on... Never use it so why see it... ?? No probs with room.

You also get a floppy panel (hole cut out) with the package. Loads of screws of which I have dozens left over and thinking if i've missed something.. Just like building that Ikea furniture and you jave screws left over... Thinking, damn, where were they supposed to go. ?? Heh

Let me know if you need anything else ...

Added all the photos with max res so peeps can zoom in on them... It has all the photos on.

only ones that i thought might be a problem would have been my mobo power leads and the power cables to my cd drive as i would probably have them in the top bays. but thanks for clearing that up.

and yer i was thinking that the wire that you said was firewire did look bit stretched but i should be ok as all mine are put together in bottom right of my mobo.

again thanks for clearing that up :D top man ;)

oh, one last thing are the fans quiet and do they push a lot of air through?

What cpu are you running and how are you measuring temps (asus probe ?)...that temp seems very low even for a ninja. My x6800 at 2.93 stock idles at around 39/40 in an Akasa Mirage with 3 x Scythe 1200rpm fans.

So if I put the cpu fan on the right side of the ninja it will be be resting slightly on the 1st dimm and the fan will probably be slightly taller then the heatsink as a result. I wonder will the case close properly then ?

Does the plastic scratch easily...looking at one of your pics of the top tray it looks like there is a scratch there already ?

Thanks for the pics.
