Anyone Using an Asus DSL-AC68U

Think i may plug in my HH5 and connect it to the Asus using the WAN and hope that interleaved comes back. Ive had 10 days uptime now and nothing has changed what so ever!

These are the defaults:

Thats brilliant thank you!

How are you finding this now with this being set back to default?

I'm finding my CRC errors just seem to be random to be honest.

I can set it to 10dB and get thousands of errors or can let it do it's own thing and it's around 4.5dB atm and only got a thousand so far.

Probably something else causing them instead of the line.

So it seems like we are in the same situation currently were we've been interleaved for awhile and looking to shift it

I'm on fastpath, was getting 14ms pings to bbc.co.uk earlier and I'm up north.

Oh Sory i thought you were interleaved. I wish i could shrug off my ping times of 21ms back to 12ms

Ive now changed back to default setup and lost 3mbps on the download but my interleaved depth has went down a tiny bit. You all have permission to hit me if i change the settings before DLM kicks in again to shift the line a little more!

I don't think my line has ever been marginal, bad or less quality, I would apply that description to this piece of hardware. I am never going to use it again as a single box with my fibre and I am happy to continue to use the supplied modem that is perfectly stable and then use the part of the asus that appears to work well.
There were promises made by OC and Asus that they wouldn't rest until the issues were sorted, in my experience they have only become worse...

I have to agree with all what's said. ASUS has been the only DSL modem brand to cause problems on my line too. I've ran various other modem brands, that being the Huawei HG612, ECI /i, ECI /r, and now currently what appears to be stable and producing far less errors than the HG612 even - the Fritz!Box 7490 - now that I've got the public IPv4 subnet working without doing anything hacky.

I've put my ASUS DSL-AC68U back in the box and I will only get it out for purely routing purposes if I need a spare router. I don't trust the modem in it any longer unless the connection it's on is interleaved - which sucks of course.

This experience doesn't inspire me much confidence in buying products in future with the ASUS brand to be honest.

if your exchange is ECI (infineon / lantiq) of course the 7940 will have less errors than the hg612 as matching the dslam & perhaps the algorithm

How do you find out what your exchange uses?

Any recommendations on a cheaper standalone router that works well with the HG612?

Hmmm putty has stopped working for me so I can't telnet.

Says network error: connection refused. Tried a few things and still not working, changed nothing from the other day when it was working fine

Thanks to Ixel i have the TC Console program. I will run this tomorrow or over the weekend!

I might have found a cheap HG612 i am just mulling over the idea of plugging this in and then run the network wire into the Asus and then let the HG612 get me a stable line as everyone seems to agree that it is settled.
