Anyone Using an Asus DSL-AC68U

Hi,

I got this router and i am now down from 75mb to 64mb but it was down to my fault mainly due to having a lot of electrical work done & making router changes. Apart from this i have no issue with the router what so ever and think it is a great router.

I would do the firmware download and install this and then factory reset the device. Then put all the settings in that you want then and let it go. Ive never had a problem with the device i am just desperate for DLM to do its work.

I concur with stringyb92 and have found this to be a great router and also think that if you have a good line you will have no problems.
All I did was install the latest 5007 firmware from the Asus web site and do
a factory reset and then set ESNP to stable in the DSL settings.
I was interleaved for five days and then back on fastpath for a month now with no resets whatsoever and a download speed of 75Mbs and upload of 19Mbs

Sounds good pal.

I am currently interleaved but as i have said previously this is due to a lot of electrical work in the house and like an idiot i didnt turn the router off so DLM kicked in.

Good to see someone has something good to say about this router though!

try ESNP and also change Rx AGC GAIN Adjustment (VDSL) to high performance, when i changed mine to high performance, i later synced the same as a hg612 when dlm decided of course, before changing to high perforance i had been connected for about a month at a lower sync. Glad i made that change

every time i have changed stability adjustment to 5, i would sync higher as expected, but after over a week of uptime i had no change to openreach profile, which led me to belive it does not work as expected, so my advice would be dont change it.

Have you changed the stability adjustment

I think I did. I'm on my phone at the moment so when I get to a computer I'll search back with the mods I done. I think I initially had it set to auto for my week of testing. I then set it to 7db and lost another chunk of sync. Set it to 5db and gained a heap of crcs.

I'll reset everything to default then just set esnp first of all.

Just got back to UK and package is waiting, so I'll probably try and set it up tonight. I'm assuming I can download the latest firmware from the device (rather than from ASUS website)?
Should I set ESNP on initially or wait to see if I get issues?
Also G.INP on or off?
Any other settings that are vital to change from factory defaults?

I think with this hardware you actually need a perfect line, but then other modems don't have this issue. Plus the fact the latest firmware screws the dlna drive up to extent it is unusable forcing you back to the previous firmware. However if your's is good and you don't use dlna then all well and good. Asus have already moved on from this disaster as someone else has stated, lets hope the next one is better.

I'll only try the ASUS as a modem again if a new firmware arrives and even then I might wait for other peoples reports. For now it works well as an expensive router, although for not much more I could have bought an AC3200 nighthawk

I would set ESNP on and see how you get on!

I've gone with factory settings and this is what I have right now (getting 7ms pings to bbc.co.uk from router GUI):

(not sure why the image isn't showing in-line?)

Anything out of the ordinary here?
Thanks!

Seems pretty solid. Approx 250 CRC errors (down and up) after 12 hours of operation and - most importantly - performance seems fast and reliable. Will know more after a week, but no disasters so far ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about CRC errors I would just leave the dsl settings alone and let everything settle

just switched to fibre, do these stats etc.. look good? and can anyone explain the writing in the log i keep getting daily? i'm on default dsl settings
