AOC Q3279VWF - FreeSync,VA,qHD 31.5 inch monitor for £249! (ONLY £199 AT OcUK FOR BLACK FRIDAY)!!

Had mine for a few days and here are some of my thoughts.

- Out the box the colours were not good but after tweaking a few monitor settings ive got it just about right (although not as good as my Dell IPS but to be expected)
- Ghosting can be obvious but only in a few games. In Overwatch I cant see any ghosting at all, probably because the game is so bright. However, in games like Path of Exile, which can be very dark in places, the ghosting is very obvious. This is particular apparent on the name plates of loot.
- The lack of VESA mount is disappointing but not really an issue for me. I find it sits at the perfect height on my desk.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I can forgive the ghosting in places due to the price point and features you do get at that price.

Seems this works okay with Nvidia cards despite being aimed at FreeSync which is good to know. Shame the stand height isn't adjustable but guess they've got to cut some corners somewhere but does seem good value for the money otherwise. Tempted to use my birthday money towards it as I currently game at 1080p on 144hz. Should give me the push to finally upgrade my 970!

Just got text to say will be delivered between 2-3pm. Damn, wish I lived closer to the depot :)

EDIT: Actually if it's live in Cambuslang or wait till 2pm I'll just wait ;)

Well it has arrived, but can I get the base fitted, can I heck! Either I am being a moron or it is the worst designed thing ever!

I found it needed a screwdriver rather than being able to use the finger-grippy tag on the screw. I put that down to my being a girl's blouse, but happy its not just me.

No problem at all. I have trust enabled so you should be able to PM me. More is always better though: I have colleagues who use 3 monitors when in the office !
Ended up just buying one as a Christmas treat to myself :D. Thanks very much though.

Glad I'm not the only one! Mine arrived today and I tried doing it with a knife to no avail! Can't get the screw in flush (I assume it needs to be completely flush so the base can't wiggle?), so having to pop out tonight to get a proper screwdriver to try.

I would assume so, I didn't want to force it but it doesn't seem like it can actually screw in with the notch actually in place given the angle that the screw is at. I might just be being a muppet but it does seem stupid.

Make sure the base is fully slotted into position. It took me two goes, I was just about to get my screwdriver when I tried pushing the base into position a bit harder. I didn't feel it shift but suddenly I was able to screw it in by hand.

So mine got delayed yesterday again, and returned to the depot. After faffing about on the phone with DPD I finally got the go ahead to go and collect it. Hour and 45 minutes round trip but it was worth it in the end.

Worked well out of the box and runs at 75hq fine with my NVidia card. Bit of tweaking of the settings from one of the above posts and it has a bit of a wow factor now.

For those having trouble attaching the base plate, make sure there is no little bits of the polystyrene fallen into the thread of the arm. Make sure the 2 little proud 'lugs' push into the base hole before you try to align up and tighten the screw.

Yea i was playing around with it. I went into the nvidea control panel display setting and changed the colour settings. Everything looks a lot more vibrant now.

Really happy with the AOC. just needs tweaking once out the box

What settings did you go for out of curiosity as I am still faffing about with mine and can't decide what to stick on!

This. You have to hook the horizontal base behind a thin rectangular lug on the bottom of the vertical stand and then it needs to be pulled forward so that the base clips onto the two circular lugs in front of the thin rectangular lug. Then the adjuster screw should find itself into the threa easily and you can tighten it up by hand. You don’t need a screwdriver.

And I am officially a moron! I got it within a few seconds by just making sure that the two little lugs were actually seated properly. Then it screwed right in no bother.
