***** AORUS DID NOT INVENT THE GRAPHICS CARD, THEY PERFECTED IT! RTX 2000 SERIES!! *****

Done a little bit more testing albeit with my 6600k and not the 2700x as I wanted to, really annoyed about that.

Managed 130 on the core and 850 on memory. Temps aren't that impressive for a card so big. Maxed at 73c during the Metro Last Light benchmark with 77% fan speed, have quite an aggressive curve on it. It's quite loud but as expected I guess. Out of the box I got 1920 max on the core, with the 130 offset I vary from 1965-2020. Not sure what the limiting factor is, also I'm pretty sure it has the 366W bios as I peaked at 361W during the benchmark. Attached is a result of the benchmark itself. Impressive for a single card. I have quite a lot of GPU sag which looks particularly bad and the support doesn't fit properly in my case so I can't use it.

Well

Well if you put your fans in case up it will stay around 75C but I am running UW monitor 3440x1440

Still seems excessively high considering the 3 fans and large heatsink, the asus strix at 4k in some reviews tops out in the 70c range. But those are currently like hens teeth for some reason.

Was going to buy this because of its amazing looks but then I saw a review that found its noise and heat output mediocre.

Glad I bought the Strix, it's consistently topping the charts for heat and noise everywhere.

Can you please tell as more details about temps and fan speed ... etc .. thinking about buying Strix maybe ..

The Strix has dual bios - 'performance' and 'quiet'. There is a physical switch on the card - all they really do though is change the fan curve.

Performance doesn't go above 65 degrees and is around 50% fan speed at that that temperature.

Quiet - I haven't bothered testing because performance is quiet enough for me, and believe me I hate noise. According to reviews, it never goes above 75 degrees in this mode and it really is close to completely inaudible.

From a heat / noise perspective this card is much better than the Strix 1080 Ti I had before.

Thank you for that. What resolution you play on ? Do you have OC version ? Can you monitor VRM temps on strix ?

3440x1440, I have 'advanced' version whatever that means. Ultimately it's luck-based how high your clocks are. I got a great card - it clocks around ~1900mhz at 65 degrees at stock settings. I don't know about VRM temperatures.

The build quality of this extreme is not great to be honest, it looks lovely but compared to my 1080TI palit game rock it feels so plastic and cheap. The whole front is plastic and not a good quality one too. My brother brother bought one but it looks amazing to the point i would even put up with a loud fan lol but not paying the price for one.

Yes it is just slightly slower then OC version. Thank you for reply. My card will go back Monday for refund. Then either Strix or FTw3 ;)

Hoping I can get my motherboard and cpu issues resolved.

6600k bottlenecks the 2080ti so much. 100% CPU usage in Hitman with 70% GPU usage. Having played hitman for 5 hours today the GPU did do pretty well. I'm pretty sure my CPU bottleneck stops it clocking higher. Hit 2040 with a 130 oc on a less CPU intensive game.

Beautiful card but temps and performance a little lacking. Horrid say on mine too.

Honestly, plastic is better than the paper thin metal they went with last time.

Fair point i suppose, but for £1300 i would have really expected better material.

does anyone here have bad coil whine? Would really appreciate if other owners would have a listen to their cards to see if they have coil whine?

this 2080TI has terrible coil whine, we ran Heaven benchmark and its quite audible.

on wolfenstein its bad but on the menu screen its how shall i describe it, like strangling a cat while its clawing a blackboard.

I suppose its return it for a replacement, i have a feeling not accept a replacement card this side of Christmas.

any truth to " if i run a benchmark for few days non-stop it will fix the whine or reduce it"?

Hello I find plastic shroud very qood quality and strong not bending. I like it.

There is no coil whine on my sample But I had it on my previous cards. If you run card in load for a while it can improve. In Wolfenstein menu you probably get really high Fps there.

Try to use some fps Limiter

You get Coil whine when Fps is very high only

Finally got my card setup how I wanted. Had to get rid of my Dark Rock 4 CPU cooler and fit a H150i Pro AIO but it is definitely worth it. I used the cablemods vertical mount, the only issue I have is that the riser cable is tight against the backplate of the card.

I agree, the plastic shroud looks a lot stronger than the 1080Ti. It didn't have much give at all, can't notice much if any coil whine either. The card is a real beast at 1440p 165hz.
